Laughter filled the corridor. As she passed by, Celestia stopped, staring at her partner and... the child.Her child.
It was these kinds of pauses that Celestia hated- by all intents and purposes, he was her son, only...
The young draconequus stared up at his father with such love and admiration, his eyes gleaming with joy whenever he laid eyes upon him. Whenever they turned to her, however, no matter how much love he genuinely poured out to her, no matter how many smiles he dedicated to her, his eyes were always cold- distant, as if... as if he knew.
'You are not mine... aren't you?'

Ooof, I never want to use this style for these three ever again- toooooo many colors.
You may recognize this from a previous status post! I decided to go over it digitally, mostly because of how important it is, in terms of... things regarding Solare. Celestia and Discord love their youngest son (decided to make him the baby after all!), but for reasons yet to be explained, Solare actually makes Celestia slightly uneasy, mostly in regard to how he was born. That's a secret, however, for another time, hehe. In the meantime, enjoy! All will be revealed soon enough.

I highly doubt Celestia would be distant to a child, especially if it her own, even if they were adopted.

I wouldn't call her distant in regards to Solare, just wary in a sense. She strives to spend a lot of time with all of her children, but Solare, especially in his teens, is the one who's distant and unreadable.

Now I'm very curious to see how he was born, if it ever comes to light of course... If not, I can only especulate. I get how poor Celly is feeling there, since in our verse my fave noodle boi was also born by... Inconvenient methods. He does love his momma but all of that stuck up royalty and unicorns with their muzzles so far up in their rears is simply not for him. meanwhile our darling Sol is a trickster. ;3 I'm truly glad that you added him to canon, and he seems like a big source of conflict of sorts. Oh boi.

Hmmm... Based on what's going on here, I'm guessing that Celestia didn't carry Solare herself, so my theory is that Discord laid an egg. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it (even though I'm probably wrong). Anyway, glad to see that you now have a plan for Solare in your verse, and now you've got me wondering what that plan is. I like how distant and forlorn Celestia looks in this picture, like she sees something no one else can.

You are absolutely... not wrong at all, my friend! Although, there's much more to Solare's origins that unsettles Celestia- and that's where I keep my mouth shut on the subject. I like to keep an air of intrigue about Harmonyverse after all, hehe.
