In search of Vargun's brother Augustille, the Pathfinders explore Barkanin Ardoc's mansion, an amazing combination of both technology and magical protections.
The rest of the floor, the kitchens and pantry, contained no human presence or much of interest, other than confirmation that Berkanin Ardoc preferred the company of machines to his own kind.
"By the ass hairs of Pharasma, this guy is a sicko," Lyrio said after they were attacked again, thankfully without damage, by a tiny creature made of ivory and bone.
One of the next chambers turned out to be a library in which Carandas discovered a cache containing a collection of pornographic poetry and an animated book showing the mating of a golem and a human.
"After the other asshole who thought he was his mother and her dolls, here's another scumbag who likes to fornicate with his goddamned machines!"
"Calm down Lyrio," Mirixiana whispered to him, knowing him too well by now to recognize that when anger rose in him, Lyrio would let loose with some rather colorful language.
"Yes, keep your cool, please," Carandas added as she pocketed the literature recovered from the library. "And besides you're making noise."
"How about we go upstairs?" interjected Kisaiya.
"Yeah...I'll go first," Lyrio grumbled before heading for the stairs.

Le reste de l’étage, les cuisines et le garde-manger, ne contenaient nulle présence humaine ni grand-chose d’intéressant, si ce n’est la confirmation que Berkanin Ardoc préférait la compagnie des machines à celles de son espèce.
« Par les poils de cul de Pharasma, ce type est un malade, » dit Lyrio après qu’ils eurent encore été attaqués, heureusement sans dommage, par une minuscule créature faite d’ivoire et d’os.
L’une des pièces suivantes se révéla être une bibliothèque dans laquelle Carandas découvrit une cache contenant un recueil de poésie pornographique et un livre animé montrant l’accouplement d’un golem et d’un humain.
« Après l’autre connard qui se prenait pour sa mère et ses poupées, voilà un autre enfoiré qui aime forniquer avec ses putains de machines de merde ! »
« Calmez-vous Lyrio, » lui souffla Mirixiana qui le connaissait trop bien maintenant pour savoir que lorsque la colère montait en lui, Lyrio se laissait aller à un langage plutôt coloré.
« Oui, gardez-votre sang-froid, s’il vous plait, » ajouta Carandas en empochant les ouvrages récupérés dans la librairie. « Et en plus vous faites du bruit. »
« Et si on montait à l’étage ? » intervint Kisaiya.
« Ouais…je passe devant, » maugréa Lyrio avant de s’engager dans l’escalier.
