When I did the sunlight, it looked really grainy, and overall awful...
Is there any reason for this? =/
And is there a way to fix it?

Hey, sorry for the delay. I'm not certain what might be happening there, but I'm working on a revamp of this tutorial that will hopefully clear things up!

Thanks!
This will help me alot.
Terragen 2 seems quite complicated compared to terggaen 1.

Yeah, it really is more complex than TG Classic. There are lots of great resources out there though!

Nice, I want more Terragen 2 tutorials since all old tuts are completely useless now!
But maybe it would be better to call this an "introduction" than a tutorial because you don't actually describe what / and how you are doing things.
Etc, "...by selecting the color box we get a quick idea of what this layer is doing"... err? Do we? Were is the color box? My Terragen 2 doesn't have a color box anywhere. It does have a color TAB? And it does not provide any input field where I can type the height level where the layer is supposed to be. It has a "coverage" input field which seems to randomly choose where the shader is visible.
If you feel up to it I would greatly appreciate a more detailed tutorial because T2 is extremely confusing compared to the old GUI.
Thanks!

Thanks very much for the feedback. Can I get your input on what areas of TG2 you'd like to see a tutorial about? Making a how-to for an image is one thing, and something like this intro is another, but I want to make sure any future info is really applicable to the user. Any input will be heavily considered! Thanks again.

"Ohhhh...". Thanks for posting this tutorial. Yeah, I know, it's been up for a while, but it is by far one of the most concise tutorioI've seen elsewhere. Felt when I first opened the program. I have been using 0.9 for so long. In fact I still use it a lot. I'll view the next one as well.

Thank you for this tutorial, i was left absolutely perplexed when they made Terragen 2 so complex. I saw the screenshots before the tech preview and i put Terragen 1s ease of use and the screenshots together and wasn't expecting the program to actually get harder to use, this has really cleared it all up thank you.

Nice one - couldn't make head nor tail of the technology preview when it first came out, and left it lying unused.
I can't say that I now understand TG2 (can anyone?) but this tutorial has helped a great deal. I have checked out a fair few guides and FAQs, but not one of them has been as useful as this.
Cheers.

Anything specific that's confusing you? I know it's pretty CPU-intensive, but it's really not that hard once you get the hang of the controls.
