Description
A variety of flags for the fictional United North American States from Mass Effect requested by MrKnight360Ill write more about the flags in specifics when I upload each one on its own, so instead, Ill use this description to explain a more general concept I was going for.
Whenever people create a flag for some sort of North American union, often they either use the American flag as a template (more often from American-centric individuals, or for scenarios where the US conquered surrounding nations), or they try to blend flags together, attempting to do something similar to how the Union Flag of Great Britain was created.
I decided instead to start from scratch. A real unifying flag wouldnt be one members flag with some new colors or a few extra stars, it should be different, and thats what I attempted to do. For some of the flags I kept identifying colors (red for Canada, blue for the US, and green for Mexico), while for others I kept it more neutral, trying something similar to the flag of the European Union.

I'm writing a science fiction book and create a country called "Union of the North" and is made up of the US, Mexico, Canada, Denmark, Greenland, Central America, Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii. It has colonies in space and stuff. I wonder if you could make a flag for the country that I invented. And another banner for your colony on Mars. I liked your work.

Thanks for answering.Β
The flag should have one star for each region / country of the Union of the North. The most important are 4, in white color.Β The colors of the flag should be in dark blue and white, with discrete shades of green and red. To your consideration, can be lateral or horizontal stripes will depend on how the stars settle in.Β
To flag of the colony on Mars. They should be dark orange and blue. With a white star in the middle. And the flag of Union of the North, in the same way as the upper left is the United Kingdom flag in the flag of Australia.

This inspired me to do a coat of arms. (A Double-headed bald eagle holding the coats of arms of belize, canada, costa rica, el salvador, greenalnd, guatemala, honduras, mexico, nicaragua, and the USA. It is inspired by the union state's coat of arms )

Hi, I just uploaded my version at [link] - I was inspired by this work, but took the conventional route of a US-centric design.

Well first off these are flags, not maps.
And second, why would China be represented in flags for the United North American States when China is not part of the UNAS?

i like the two star emblem, but i'm not sure i understand its meaning. since there are only two stars and not three, a star couldn't stay for one state. so i suppose the two star emblem symbolizes the very idea of an union. am i right?
i'm also wondering if it won't look better with two stars put one on another in a more symetrical way... but probably it would just look like one 10 pointed star and not two 5 pointed stars, especially if in one colour.

A star doesnt have to have its points evenly spaced.
On my flags, that star is meant to represent the north star. The red/green version of the star is just a style choice.
With these flag charts ive been posting, I kind of like to think that these were all proposals for the flag made by different people and sent into the government.
A flag for a union is a rather difficult thing, as all three flags have some sort of symbolism to them, but not every element is as easily combined, as opposed to the flag of Great Britain, where all they had to do was combine a few cross flags.

It simple yet powerful, it truly symbolize the countries that maybe they took over.

I believe that that United North American States took over South of Africa, Central and South American, East of Australia, The Caribbean and New Zealand. That one of my theories. Awesome work on the flags.
