Acadia is roughly Canada + New England north of New York + probably something else in the west, but no one cares about those bits. Aiti is Haiti. Check out the North America Steamopera map in my gallery.

Do you mind if I ask where you got the idea for Virginia's flag from? And could I use the symbol in the ensign for a mod of Europa Universalis III, which I hasten to add will not be commercially used? I'd attribute you fully as the creator.

Well, this Virginia is the Canada of the Steamopera, except it's roughly the early US - some of the northermost colonies which are Acadian. I don't remember exactly why the flag has the Tulip tree, except as a shout-out to the OTL Canadian flag, which has the maple leaf. The tulip tree is native to the parts that comprise the Dominion of Virginia, and, hazy recollection, maybe the state tree of a state or something similar. The leaf shape is very distinctive, and the flowers were pretty, so I went with that.
Go ahead and use is it in a EU mod.

Hahaha, I suspect that is the reason my maps and flags are so popular, compared to other stuff. Some Newfie from St John or a guy in a net-bar in Warszaw see a map. The newfoundlander goes, hey, it's got my place in it! Score! And the Pole is furious because there's no Poland there.

Well, most of these are pretty cool, but I'd like to introduce you to my alternative flag for the territory currently known as the Dominion of Virginia. See here: [link]

Is there a reason for Lousiaine having a "chained lily" while Aiti has a "freed" one? AFAIK this matters in Steamopera, doesn't it?

Yes: Louisiane is an emigrΓ©-kingdom, made up by disgruntled nobles and a queen or two, originally backed up by the Spanish and English crowns. Moderner Louisiane, of course, isn't that popular with the Cause anymore, because they tend to screw their diplomacy up fierce. I'm guessing those western bits? Stolen from Spain through wars, OR from an early Mexico. Louisiane is basically the poster-nation of the International, the social movement for monarchy and conservatism.
Aiti is a republic, so they have a republican fleur-de-libertΓ©. Not much to say.

Kiitti. Idealtaan se perustuu siihen ajatukseen ettΓ€ Virginian dominiohan on HΓΆyryvirren brittilΓ€inen Kanada - jolloin asiaan kuuluu tietysti puu-motiivi. Kyseinen lehtiΓ€inen on englanniksi Tulip Tree, eli... *tarkistaa* ... Tulppaanipuu.
