Sasuke is a strange character, makes you hate
him but feel some pity. I think that's how
Kishi created him

Yeah. I think it's also because he's been in the series for so long, from the very beginning, and between that time and arc in which he decided to defect from Konoha, it had given us as the audience enough time to grow attached to his character in some way, even if we didn't necessarily LIKE him. His role in the series has been important both for plot, and for character growth especially when it comes to Naruto and Sakura. You know?
For someone like Karin or Suigetsu, or anyone who has been created within the last two years or so... if they die, I don't think I'd be all that upset. But in Sasuke's case, even though he's a jerk and I absolutely LOATHE him for just being so incredibly STUPID... I still pity him, and I'll probably cry if Kishi decides to off him in the end.

invested too much into making them. I mean, they
