People are always complaining that I hate things because they are popular (MLP, Homestuck, Naruto, Hetalia, and so on) But no, it's because I HATE them. How hard is that to grasp?The things I dislike just happen to be liked by lots of others, I don't hate them because they are popular.

I am so glad you made this. This describes a lot for me such as why I dislike most mainstream things like reality TV and Twilight when that was mainstream..... I am more neutral on Twilight but I definately don't like it. I used to hate it until I had a bad experience with the Anti-Twilight communtiy that I'd rather not get into.

It's true. You can hate them because you genuinely hate them. The reason why people say "You hate it because it's popular" is because there are people who are fickle enough to follow this "anti-mainstream" crowd so if they hear their friends saying "I hate it" they parrot it too. Those kids make it easy to assume we hate something because it's popular.

lol, I'm cool with Hetalia and MLP, (Hetalia is more complicated, seeing as I don't watch it anymore and I only kept up with the webcomics for so long, but THE MUSIC~ AND HOW I COULD MANIPUlATE IT TO WORK WITH MY HISTORY NOTES~) but seriously, people don't understand the whole "SOMETIMES I JUST DON'T LIKE STUFF" thing. they think you must have a mental condition.

not to get in your buisness, but exactley, how many episodes of Naruto did you see before you deemed it as, "i hate it." (i'm not trying to start a fight here. i'm just curious)

Err, I know Naruto, because I followed a lot of episode. My brother (before he moved) had 20 books of Naruto and I read it. And Naruto was on TV, so I watched it with a friend (it was not Naruto, but Naruto Shippuden). For Shippuden, I liked it. Honestly, for 2/3 month of diffusion, I very liked it. But... like Naruto in the manga, it annoyed me. For me it was all the time the same thing. All. The. Time. Naruto was good... and became annoying when Sasuke left the village.
Too much characters, too much annoying stories, too much books... I prefer medium series with 10/15 tomes or 25 episodes or eventually 50 episodes.
I don't say "I hate Naruto" because I saw one or two pictures I didn't like it. No. I say "I hate Naruto" because it was a good series that bored me.
And, I think there are a nuance of the word "hate". In my langage, I translate the verb "hate" to "dΓ©tester". But when I see on the dictionnary, it write "hate ; haΓ―r" and it's... no. I think I don't "hate" Naruto. If I was really fussy about my english, I'll say "I can't stand it" or "I really don't like it".
It's not a war. It's just my opinion and my personnal experience of something.

I also had a hard time reading it (then again my reading speed is slower than most)... Maybe a pause would help... e.g.:
