Description

Scientific name of organism- luxoratio plumanatare

Description of it's Environment- The skunktail is more likely to be found gathered together in the northern part of Mothumara

Size- up to four inches long

What is it descended from- pluma

What does it eat- the skunktail, like it's ancestor, continues to convert sunlight into a food source. The resulting sugary substance within them makes them an almost irrisistable meal to predators.

Reproduction- skunktails reproduce by splitting into two, and like a starfish if a part of it is bitten off, it can grow into a whole new skunktail.

Adaptations- The feather slime, once drifting aimlessly in the ocean currents, began to wiggle it's feathery 'leaves' in desperate attempts to swim away from predators. Those who could wriggle the fastest were more likely to escape death and go on to pass on their genes. Over time, the skunktail became an adept swimmer, able to move in a similar manner to a seaslug. It evolved countershading in order to avoid detection from Lunaris's new predators {such as plated worms}, but retained its black coloration in order to collect light to make energy.

Winternight- like a resurrection plant the split off bits of skunktail lay dormant, curled in on themselves awaiting the return of sunlight. In other seasons, they carry on as normal.
