for my Arknights project. it is a military crossbow that uses a pressurized air-powered internal hydraulic system to operate as a semi-automatic weapon. it is rather heavy, but is reliable and surprisingly easy to maintain, making it a perfect fit to be a standard-issue Columbian military infantry weapon

the canister is located where the real world FAMAS F1's magazine would be loaded. Where the ejection port is on the FAMAS rifle is where the expended air is "kicked" through, as part of it's internal system used to prevent an buildup of used gasses.

Part of the top of the weapon is opened like an M249, and then loaded like an M1 Garand with an 8-round clip.
