sometimes after making a curved path, the next anchor point I make curves out on its own rather than starting off straight. This prevents me from creating a path that covers a section of line art efficiently. Can you help?

ooooh right i forgot to write that on the tutorial ><.. you just have to press alt and click over the anchor point and thats it!

So instead of making a new anchor point, you click on the previous one to stop that path from spazzing out when the next anchor point is place?

Thank you so much for posting this tutorial! I found it really helpful. Even though I don't use Photoshop or draw a lot on the computer in general, I plan to get my own tablet soon, maybe for my birthday or for Christmas. When I do, I'll be sure to check out this again!

would this all work out with the SAI pain tool?
great tutorial by the way!

no, SAI is not provided with a pen tool.
however, if you change the stabilizer level on SAI [on the top right it is located] for example, to S-3 or S-4, making pics will be way easier to make with the mouse.
with a tablet it will be just even easier.

interesting method - will definitely try with folders; i've only used multiple layers so will have to practise.
and your line art method is very neat - usually i just re-trace over my line art and i have trouble getting the uniform lines so will definietly have to practise a bit with this!
thank you for the education :3
[would you want me to point out spelling errors? or is that being nitpicky?]

I have this..."thing" against using pen tool. I mean, you aren't really going to improve your lineart and the way you handle curves and all the lines - besides the sketch, which, still, is just a sketch - if you're just going to use the pen tool for every single line. And even let the pen tool simulate pressure?
It's like completely letting the program do the work for you. I prefer improving on my own, drawing my own lines, even if it takes a much longer time. Because if someone will work only like this, in the future it will be much harder to naturally draw lines smoothly without some pen tool.
I personally consider it cheating. But that's just my opinion.
