Here we go! If you want to maintain the illusion that my hair is actually magical and glowy and long and blonde, look away now. XDGOOD GOD THAT TOOK AGES. Kudos and credit to for the amazing beta job (she is incredible, all remaining mistakes are my own) and to Alice, my flatmate, for being that other person in Step Ten. Alice also deserves credit for putting up with me for the week it takes to make this wig. Seriously, it's hair everywhere, make sure no one is going to destroy you before you try this. And remember to clean up after yourself! XD
As it says in the tutorial this is NOT the easiest way to make this wig. Buying a bucketload of colour-matched extensions, for example, might be easier. I had no luck finding golden blonde extensions though (as opposed to ash, platinum, etc) and I am a pedantic little twit. You may have more luck than me though!
I really hope someone finds this useful. I'm posting it by popular demand and I've seen a lot of people wondering how to tackle it, so hopefully it'll come in handy! It's lovely to be able to feed back into a community that has given me so much. Please let me know if you have any questions - I'm happy to answer, and if there are a lot of them, I'll post a FAQ.

Once you have it styled do you ever have to restyle it or will the caulk hold it in place? I work for an event company as rapunzel and have been killing myself over the wig I have now. I have to restyle it between every event I do. Will this hold its shape or will it get frizzy and mess up?

I love this! But I do have a question; what type if braid is the one seen in the picture above (the onewith two small braids and then long hair)? If you don't know what its called could you tell me how to so it?

A very helpful person mentioned its correct name in another thread - apparently it's called a 'lace braid', and there are some good tutorials out there for it!

How did you get your plait to be so smooth?! I've been working on mine and I just can't seem to get the hair to lay that smooth!

A whole lot of patience! I was super-duper careful the whole way through with caulking and plaiting. I also made sure I had a lot of left over wefts to cover holes and bumpy bits. After the plait was complete I would comb out a weft, glue it in above a gap/messy bit, comb it again, put some hot glue on the big plait and lay the new weft over the top. Then you just tuck the ends of the weft into the next twist.
Also flowers. Lots of flowers.

Do you think that if i just bought three 5foot long wigs and braid it then it would look good? Haha.
I'm afraid that if I do this then it wouldn't be thick enough. How would I get it to look thick? Sorry for all the questions! Haha

I'm not sure I follow, do you want it to be thicker than it is in the tutorial?
If you're aiming for the same thickness, you could use longer wigs then follow the other steps the same. I've heard people say that things end up a lot more 'tangled' (heh) though, and that it's no easier in the end. Up to you!

This is so fantastic!!! Thank you for sharing this. I have a question about the extensions. How long are the extensions? I found Kanekalon jumbo braid and it's telling me it's 48 " long. Is that the correct one? Get 3 packets of them? Thanks for your help!

48" sounds right! Just hold a tape measure up to the nape of your neck (where the extensions connect) and see where you want it to fall. I just used the 48" straight out of the packet, but some prefer to trim them shorter.

Wow, this is great! I do have one question though. How and when do you put the small braids in that intertwine throughout the large braid? Maybe I just didn't read right, but I don't think I saw it in there.

It's pretty thick/white, but it dries clear. So long as it dries clear, you should be fine! <3

The wig actually looks really nice in the last photo with out being braided. Would it look terribly weird though if you left it like that?

Hmmm. It looks okay in that photo, but I suspect that's only because it's hanging loose and still. If it were moving, or positioned more awkwardly, it'd be pretty clear that it was in three big chunks.
If you wanted the wig loose, my advice would be to compromise on colour and find a long wig with matching extensions. :3 Good luck!
