Description NOTE :: MORE QUESTION UPDATE

Q : Where can I get copic markers? Do you have any recommended place?

A : There are several places selling Copic markers. You may check out you local art stores. Or as *SheCow recommendation, go browsing on Ebay. Ebay has more choices and probably sometimes has a very surprised deal! Check it out!

NEWS :: As mentions, "you can get copics from dickblick.com at a discount whereas buying them else where. (discount is at most 40% of the actual cost of copics)

Q : Copic markers are still expensive, Any brand do you recommend with a lower price?

A : Even though Copic markers are the best one for me, I admit that the price is still high. For some of you who want to use other brands, I recommend Neopiko from DELETER. These markers work pretty well and easy to blend like Copic markers (not 100% but yeah, still good enough to use!). And of course they come out with good price. But just keep in mind that Neopiko might hard to find on stores compare with Copic. So if you're interested, check 'em online. Yo!

For Prisma and Tristars markers...I've never used them so I can't tell about how good or tips...sorry about that TAT

=================

YAY! as I promised before *got shot*...hope it will be helpful for you guys. Any question for copic markers are welcome (umm...if I can answer as well TwT)..lol

Best Thanks for for her awesome copics XD

Okay, I was thinking about gettin the Manga Set A with the 24 colors. Do you know if this comes with the blending (0) thing or if I have to purchase it seperately?

Why does everyone say that the Sketch are better than the Ciao if they have the same ink ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ecthelian In reply to Kanille-Hime [2010-04-25 13:23:54 +0000 UTC]

Technically, Sketch ones have more color choices than Ciao and can be refilled once the ink is gone.

Mmh, I see. I dunno yet if I'm going to buy them 'cause here we've only Ciao and it's the same price than the Sketch in USA @_@. But my seller told me than now we can refill the Ciao too and I saw him do so when a student came with his markers.

Thank you a lot for your answer (= ! And I wanted to tell you that I love your work.

Hello,
I get my Copic Markers from a woman that sells direct and she charges $4.97 per marker and you get one free when you buy 5 of them. It's a really good deal and she's friendly.

Her email is Sept_Playground@sbcglobal.net

And she always has the colours I'm looking for.

I can see a reduced price sticker on the copic marker in step 3. TO me it looks like $2.50, and I was wondering what the actual price is on it. Because I didn't think Copic markers could go that cheap so I'm probably wrong, but just out of interest how much is it?

KairiLove29 In reply to ??? [2010-03-08 03:13:16 +0000 UTC]

nice tutorial!

dickblick sells them cheap but another website sells them really cheap too~ www.carpediemstore.com
it all depends if they are having extra discounts or not on deciding which site is cheaper~
however i think that both of these stores are much cheaper than ebay's prices.

bwarghhhh. i wish i could draw and colour as pwettiful as you! T^T

but i just have one question, and im sure you've been asked it before, but i am WAYYYYY too lazy to look through the 750 comments you have on this tutorial to try and find the answer.
so if you could please tell me..... what brand of copic Markers do you use? i've used Ciao Copic, and they're okay. i just got a bunch of Letraset ProMarker copics, but i haven't tried them yet. i would like to know what brand you use if it's not too much trouble.

i just spotted 1 guy on deviant that spend 600$ on his copic markers and then i thought "is it worth it?"I mean for 600$ you can buy large Wacom Intuos 4 tablet which lets you do the same that copic markers do and more.So i just wanted to ask people who own copic markers or a tablet their opinion

Oh and sorry for the mistakes i may have done here english is my secondary language

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ecthelian In reply to auqifx [2009-12-11 23:44:11 +0000 UTC]

It's all up to you, I think. Either Wacom tablet or markers...they're all just 'tools', right? I believe each artist has his own preference. Because if you think Wacom is worth than markers and you spend time working on CG more, they I'll say 'yes', Wacom is worth more. But if you're not digital person and prefer to work with traditional medium, markers or other traditional tools would be better (well, you probably don't want to spend $600 for the tablet and use only for scrabble once a month, right?)

auqifx In reply to Ecthelian [2009-12-12 17:29:46 +0000 UTC]

yea...I guess you're right,i'll probably start with copic and if i get serious i'll buy a tablet.
thx (besides my dream is to work at game company
