Description To avoid comments regarding the category assignment, I've listed this under digital art. Check the original inks for full description [link] Also, take note of that nasty scar on his chest, most likely left behind by some feline warrior...

Amazing art! I'd say it is a thorny devil, a type of lizard. Good work!

Hi, could I use this a as a ref for a commission, I want to make an image of these guys from a game called Stellaris www.stellariswiki.com/File:Rep… and your pic was as close as I could find to what I picture a full-body version of them looking like (albeit with more modern clothing). The person I'm commissioning is a little worried about copyright and that sort of thing, so I wanted to leave a comment asking if I could use this for a reference?

Hey. Thanks for asking. Unfortunately, the answer is no. You can't use this for a commission you're working on. I don't know what the job is, but if it requires anthropomorphic reptiles, you're going to have to do it the old-fashioned way: do the research, gather the reference, sketch it out with trial and error, and decide on something you and your client are happy with. I know it's easy to just look around for something that matches what you want to do, but if you're actually being commissioned to create something new, you can't (or at least shouldn't) take from existing artworks. I'm sure you can come up with something original and creative, and I wish you well with the project.Β

Fair enough. The commission never went anywhere anyway. But thanks for replying in any case.

Ah, that stinks. It happens sometimes with commissions.Β

Yeah. For the record, it was going to be me, trying to get full-body versions of some of the races from a game called Stellaris. These two, to be specific:

Actually, no. That's a different creature from a different part of the world. This is the one from North America that squirts blood from its eyes. Bearded Dragons are found in Australia.Β

That is the best anthropomorphic Desert Horned lizard i've seen.
Yay for lizardy beefcake goodness!
Love the attention to detail in the scales and the neat colourful addition of costume.

Hehe, sooo, feline warrior . Quite a casanova this one (or, not? ).
Aaaaanyway! Nice inking. Like the brown-ish tone and the hard work on the lizatd skin. Is he some kind of warrior from Ancient South America? (his "clothes" look a bit Inca or Maya like)

You and your naughty imagination. Yes, this is a character design for Izdawiz's personal project. It's basically a bunch of anthropomorphic warriors with a Mexican/Aztec/Native American element to their dress. Actually, there'll be some Hawaiian/Samoan stuff coming soon.

wuzz?! naughty imagination?! ! Sweet! Looking forward for tht hawaiian stuff. I like the style there, all flowery and somehow "good mood making". Wonder what you'll be making of it

The scales are colored like the actual reptile. Were you expecting lizard green? He's a desert warrior, and although you can't tell from this, he can shoot blood from his eyes

Yup! Colors just add an important element to certain images. I wanted to see what these guys would look like fleshed out.
