Are he is so cute.
Does he flap his wings when your close to him for example like young squabs flap their wings as you get closer

No, he would only flap his wings when he was stretching or excited about something. He has passed away though.

That's ok with him then, lost of birds flap their wings in random ways, like for getting others attention, mating and so on

Such a pretty boy! I'm glad you were able to capture a quiet moment on the ground since birds are they're usually pictured in the air or upright.

A couple of years older than me, then!
It's amazing how long-lived these birds are, there's a famous Andean condor that is 56 years old

Thanks!
He was quite the hunter when he was younger, or so I am told! He is pretty old now and just likes to hang out and nap most of the day.

Thanks!
He loves to take naps during the day, so he lays down a lot. Most of our other birds don't.

Do they nap in the grass in the wild? seems like a dangerous place to relax

They usually don't lay down much in the wild after they fledge unless they are sitting on a nest. This bird likes to lay down when he is super comfy, which is pretty often.
