This is a great picture.
I have found a red-shouldered hawks nest in early May and visited it often. Β I was yelled at by both parents numerous times and once saw a tail sticking out of the nest (presumably the female incubating)
But, the leaves grew and hid most of the nest and I cannot see anything anymore since a few weeks ago.
I went in the middle of last week and was greeted by one of the parents, again yelling angrily, but could not catch any glimpse of a youngster.

Red Shoulders are pretty noisy. They have gotten pretty used to me being around since they hunt regularly on our ranch.Β
I was really bummed out to find both babies out of the nest the other day. I was really hoping to get a photo of them out on the branches before they fledged and left the nest. But I was still so happy to see them!
