A male Screech Owl. This bird is a rehab bird that only has one eye. He is doing fantastic though and has been able to adapt to only having one eye incredibly well! He was recently released back to the wild.Feel free to use my photos as references and stock. Please give me credit if you use my photo! I would love to see what you make, so send me a link!

He was hit by a car and lost that eye.

Amazing that an owl could ever get by in the wild with one eye, two eyes are so important to parallax

They gave him several chances to prove he would be able to survive and hunt with only one eye, and he did amazingly well. The main reason they let him go is because owls rely more on their hearing to hunt than their sight (though they definitely need to be able to see). So even though his vision is partially compromised, his hearing makes up for it.
This little guy has really come a long way.
