Description
A crazy storm was brewing in the afternoon after we had finished our hike. I really tried to capture this amazing drama above St. Mary Lake and the Lewis Range but the winds were so strong I had to stem myself against it. You can certainly imagine how that worked out for a shot with little camera shake. Spoiler alert: It didn't. I'm still happy with the shot even though it's not nearly as sharp as I would like it to be - but I tried!
The small island in the lake is Wild Goose Island, which is often photographed. The dominant, sharp mountain in the center-left is Dusty Star Mountain and the snow-capped mountain in the back should be Going-to-the-Sun Mountain (not 100 % sure on this one).
Location: Wild Goose Island Viewpoint, St. Mary Lake, Glacier National Park, Montana, USA

Ouch, can imagine. I grew up in the city and mountains like this have always been very far away.

Just to make it clear: I said that because it's a very popular subject for photographers.

Certainly was quite something. The weather was crazy during the time we were there.
