Aloha. I stumbled across your page thanks to your av, really. It worried, then terrified, and then amused me, so I thought I'd check your stuff out to see if there was any similarity. And while I wouldn't describe most of your photographs as outrageously funny, I certainly wasn't disappointed.
Although practically all your photos are worthy of some sort of comment, I didn't want to go trawling through all of them. Typically, I seem to have picked one with a ridiculous amount on already....
I'm no photography expert, just a bit of a snapshot artist looking around for interesting scenes to combine in my paintings. Being shoddy at backgrounds and all. But I'll do my best to give useful feedback on this. First off, lovely scene, fantastic lighting and colours. The texture of the water, especially, is brilliant, and I love the way the edges fade into black. It's almost like a natural frame... did you stand on a bridge to take this? Critique-wise (and this is really slightly hypocritical as I could never do anything this good) I'd say that the general background and trees are a bit dark. It's great to have so much contrast in the water, but if the rest of the picture has such a high contrast between light and dark, it can distract the eye away from the waterfall. It still looks really good, just slightly... unbalanced. If that makes any sense. Ah well, really nice stuff anyway, mate.

I'm a sucker for waterfalls. Whenever I'm on holiday, I'm always looking for them. The sound of falling water is one of the most restful, peaceful, soothing sounds. Maybe I should get one of those sound machines...
nice composition on the picture. You've framed it nicely with the darker foliage in shadow. Lovely greens

Surely. I'm not sure if it's the brand, but it says digital vision on it. I also use Tiffen filters.

Methinks the darkness is the intended aura. It's rather dreamy, I must say. Wish I could close my eyes here in front of this monitor and then open them again to that actual scene.
This seems to be the style emerging out of your vacation photos, and I do believe I enjoy it. I do hope you continue to post photos from your trip, as regularly as possible. Just based upon how many comments you've got in about a day, I'd say you're doing well; keep 'em coming!

I still have bundles of photos from my trip, but I might be moving on soon. I'll try to post up a few more.
I'll try to make it down there for the exhibit before the end of the six weeks. I'm thinking maybe I can make a pitstop to visit some of my friends at the FTT in the process. I think it's midway between where we live.
