Denver and Houston, two creatures who function much better with the other's help. Denver struggles to interpret positive emotions, making him a terribly cold character. Meanwhile, Houston cannot sense negative emotions very well, sometimes resulting in social ineptitude. As a team, however, they're extraordinarily observant.

Through physical contact, fortunians can share their emotions. The more intense the communication, the brighter the glow. To the human observer, it is difficult to determine whether the exchange is romantic, platonic, or even argumentative.

2021 Update: I used to depict these two as romantic interests. I'm moving away from that for now. (I just follow where they lead, and Denver has wandered off in an unanticipated direction.)
