Description Over the last 5 years being on DA and providing stock I've seen more than a few manipulations where resizing elements seems to be quite an issue.

The thing that confuses me is that its such an easy thing to prevent!

Thusly, I've made this incredibly quick tutorial on how to resize without getting distorted images as a result (More of a tip than a tutorial its that quick!!)

I really hope this helps newcomers to the manipping and photoshop world!
I am assuming that this will also be similar in GIMP but not having used it, somebody might need to check

Not a problem! I think sometimes people who use shortcuts all the time just assume everyone else knows them

Yes I agree that is true however having recently acquired PS I found myself completely frustrated and lost in my efforts to even learn the basic skills involved in using PS. It is slow going but thanks to the generosity of yours and others Photoshop tutorials I am now beginning to grasp many of the "how to do" procedures that I was completely at a loss on before. So....thanks a bunch Lanny for ALL that you do. You're a sweetheart annnnd a helll of a gorgeous stock model...and on a very short list of my most favorites to use in my manips.

Its an absolute pleasure! As long as I "help" somebody somewhere, even if its for the smallest of things I've done good

In GIMP you just have to check the "Keep Aspect" box in the Tool Options tab for 1:1 resizing.

I'm continually surprised by how many things GIMP can do. Obviously it can't compete with $800 CS6000 Photoshop, or whatever, but it works pretty good for what I ask of it.
