Okay Problem.
Photo bucket only has HTML and no CSS. I am having a hard time getting started. I did read your instructions over and over but something is wrong.

You only need to upload the images to photobucket, when you view an image in photobucket you get given a list that contains the "direct" URL (website address)for the image that you need to copy and paste into the CSS that you have already copied and pasted into your deviant art journal.

Amazing CSS!
It was pretty easy to set up and this is my first time ever attemping CSS ^_^
Though I am having trouble with a couple things and tried to figure it out myself but I just couldn't
I'd really appreciate it if you can help me

-The menu. I don't know how to make the menu show up so I can have links to my gallery and stuff.

-The footer. It's overlapping my features box. Here's what it looks like ->[link]
It seems like problem is that the features box is too long. I don't know how to fix that. Also the Footer doesn't reach the edge of the left & right side, I don't know how to fix that either. Same problem with the Header.

I am really REALLY not sure how you've managed this LOL Did you make sure you removed any pre-existing css etc before you installed the wireframe one? everything seems to have additional padding or margins that aren't required.

I highly recommend creating a new journal and making sure everything is completely empty of any code or text before you re copy/paste this style into the correct boxes. It shouldn't take more than a moment to do. You also need to check the images, they seem to be much smaller than they should be as even the background image doesn't span the entire width which is strange. Check the dimensions of the originals in the zip file and ensure that the ones you have saved in your photobucket account are the same size.

I'm trying to get a journal CSS but I cant quite seem to understand no matter where i look for for help.. >.< do you think you can help me at all? I'm trying to get the black one, I uploaded the pictures onto my photobucket but the rest confuses me.. >.<;;;

Hmm the best advice I can give is to go really slowly through each step in the instructions, most of it is a simple copy and paste job into the right boxes in the edit journal page. Don't forget to refer to the example image contained in the zip file but be aware that DA has since split the header, footer, and CSS boxes onto a second tab on the edit journal page.

Start out with an old journal and add in each section starting with the CSS and head from there. Don't worry about the images until the css and content is up and running, then you can begin to insert the correct URL's for the images into the CSS

how do you download this CSS onto your jornal?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Elandria In reply to Latiasfan3 [2009-09-24 17:32:18 +0000 UTC]

Follow the directions in the deviation description to download the zip file, then follow the directions in the text file thats in the zip. This design has not been converted for the "easy install" as there are 5 different colour options.

Hello, I am trying to use this skin, but the instructions are for what seems to be the old version of the journal editing and all I get is a black background with dark grey letters. Pretty boring. I think I have done all what is necessary, except for puting the wireframe_color_html file, has I cannot find the box it is meant for. Could you help me with that?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Elandria In reply to The-REAL-fanland [2009-07-08 23:37:54 +0000 UTC]

This journal design isn't currently set up for the new automated journal installs, you must go through the full instructions contained with in the zip file to upload the correct images and to insert the right URLs to display them within the CSS code. Everything still works the same except the css and header/footer boxes can now be found on a second tab called options when you update your journal.

razorbladereflection In reply to ??? [2009-07-07 19:28:41 +0000 UTC]

I think it's ridiculous that dA advertised the Journal skins and whatnot even to the non-subscribed members. I hoped that I would be able to use this but you have to be subbed to dA... *sigh*

I love the design, and if I were subbed, I would really use it.

Cheers. :/

They do clearly state usually that you have to be subscribed.... I guess theres no point marketing new features to already subscribed members

RachBurns In reply to ??? [2009-06-19 05:00:55 +0000 UTC]

This is going to sound ridiculous, but how would I use this? It took ages to figure out what I have now, so I figured asking would do well. (If this can be used anymore with the new things--hope it can. @o; Don't intend to edit a thing.)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Elandria In reply to RachBurns [2009-06-19 14:20:28 +0000 UTC]

no worries, the instructions both in the deviation description and then in the zip file once you have downloaded it and extracted all the files should be really straight forward, just go through them step by step and don't miss anything out and it should work perfectly

I've not yet transferred these over to the "easy install" so you have to do a bit of copying and pasting

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RachBurns In reply to Elandria [2009-06-19 18:31:13 +0000 UTC]

I don't think I'd get the "easy install" at all, better to learn the old way first isn't it?

And thank you very much!

i have a question ...

do u have to be a member to get a journal skin?

if you do then is there a journal that non members can use?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Elandria In reply to catwoman1199 [2009-06-16 23:54:58 +0000 UTC]

You do need to be subscribed to be able to use the CSS journal features. Without a subscription you only have access to the standard formatting.
