Other than the beta kids with their rounded shapes I would think it would be cool to make the guardians (and by extension the alphas) more angular, with sharper corners.
He's supposed to be aracial but with orange hues he still looks kinda white? I dunno... he is aracial though.
I'm not sure about the fetch modus yet. The wiki says he has hashmap (like Dave) but Dirk has Tech-Hop so maybe some foreshadowing isn't too bad here?

I know they're meant to be aracial, but in most (especially bro imho) their facial features and body-types lend themselves mainly to Caucasian.

There are many headcanons around. I personally see the Striders as nordic-white (swedish?), while John, Jane and Dad are east asian, Jade and Jake are latina/o and the Lalondes look east european, maybe a little polish or russian? That's probably among the most most boring headcanons XD

But John and Jade direct siblings, so wouldn't it make more sense for them to be Asian/Latino mix?
I personally think that with such a small pool of human characters, you can only get so diverse. For me, I have Nordic Strilondes and East Asian Harleybertcrockerlishes.
Besides, we East Asians aren't all pale, you know. Some are about as white as Caucasians while others are a mid-brown color. I'm somewhere in the middle, though if I spent 3 to 8 hours a day in bright sunlight, I'd get pretty brown, lol.

Haha I never said the headcanons made sense, it's just how I imagine them XD I know! And considering that the alphas are the "parent" generation there may be a little more variety allowed than in the betas that are their kids, genetically. It doesn't really matter tho with the character designs.
Yeah I know, when I say asian I don't mean "japanese", I also include indian, chinese, russian, afghan, burmese, iranian and all the other ethnicities. Asia is such a diverse continent with a beautiful rainbow of people
Maybe something like indonesian or thai Harleybertcrockerlishes? That would allow for the asian almond eyes that looks hella cute with buck teeth and a relatively wide variety of skintones. It's just that I imagine Jade and Jake relatively tan while John and Jane are pale in my headcanon.

Yep yep. I think with East Asian it depends on what you define as "east." Although Russians are generally Eurasian.
That's kinda how I imagine them as well. Even Jade and Jake's natural skin tones are darker than Jane and John's, which makes them well-suited to a tropical environment.

I know it totally doesn't make sense but... hawaiian Jade and Jake *o* Maybe it's the island + volcano thing that makes me feel that way, plus native hawaiian people do have sort of asian-ish features. Their wild lifestyle makes me think of something like the Rapa Nui as well, something tribal and close to nature.

I actually have subcategories for Asian (Far East, Southeast, and Middle East) but I rarely use them anyway. XP
Fun Fact: native Hawaiians are descended from Polynesians, whose lineage is traced to Taiwan (incidentally the native country of my family, though we are of Han Chinese descent instead of indigenous). So that would be why they have some Asian features to them.

It's from the same studio that produced NGE (Gainax) but TTGL is pretty much the opposite of that. There is some mindfuckery, especially towards the end but that's about it. I don't want to spoil it, there will be episodes that wreck you.
