José Carioca has traveled quite a bit. But here is home. Here is friends and family. Here is where his heart belongs.....in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil! "Eu Amo Rio" he says.I'll be slowly getting ready for my departure for Brazil soon. I'm so excited! I plan on traveling a lot next year and I'll be in Rio de Janeiro for Carnaval. I can't wait!
I think I made the lineart a little too thick for this piece. I'll let you be the judge. Normally Disney's linearts for their characters are either thin or REALLY thick (like for coloring books, etc). My idea at first was too have him playing a guitar or something on a terrace. But I changed my mind.
Yes, that's Christ the Redeemer in the background, drew that myself and shrunk it down for the pic.

I like the lineart! (I love the whole thing, btw) A lot of people only use the thin colored lineart because they see that in the movies, but I often like the thicker lineart from the comics better. It doesn't always have to be thick and fancy, Bark's lineart looks great too but it's not that thick, more similar to this drawing. He always used a crowned pen.
Rio? That's great! It'd be funny to see the places shown in Saludos Amigos or the Three Caballeros...

Yeah so I've heard. I've heard too much negative vibes about Rio lately thanks to the media. But the Pan American Games went extremely well and from what I know no major badness during this year's Carnaval. ^___^

Very beautiful, peaceful, relaxing scene there! I love how Christ is watching over the landscape from the mountain top and how at peace Jose is.
