Illustration!I don't get to do a ton of illustrative pieces in my drawing class (it's academic realism exclusive), and this guy wasn't initially supposed to be so loose.. But my photo quality was poor, I ended up playing around and making my own horse head in the end. The original photo was of a Mongolian Pony, if you can believe it...
Response from teacher after was something along the lines of 'It's a good illustration, but I think you should do a better realistic horse next time.' XD
Soft Pastels, using Faber Castle pastel pencils and Nupastels mostly. Between 2-4 hours, I wasn't really keeping track.

My teacher is great in the way that she never stops pushing you to get better, but it is frustrating that she has little tolerance for anything that is not perfect realism.

wow, but i love the way you draw, and i know for shure that i`m not the only one.
and indeed, it`s a shame that your teacher has little tolerance for less realistic drawings but in that way you`re always getting better
