I've been asked many times how we made our kamael wings. I really didn't plan to write a tutorial EVER, but after 50th questions I gave up.That’s not the only or best way to make wings, but there were demands, so I comply

I've already stated it several times in comments, I believe
It was really cheap (not counting spray paint), around 20$ total. Harness was made by ErikDesler in 1.5 hours

This tutorial is wonderful, thank you so much! I'm actually working on making these right now for my Supernatural cosplay, and I had a question, if you don't mind.
For the fabric base I was a little confused because you said you just had one base for each wing, and it was needed because the foam won't glue to itself. But if the wing is put together, as it looks, starting from the longest layers and then getting shorter as you layer them ontop, I don't quite understand how that was done without having a layer of fabric between each layer of foam. I hope this made sense!

No problem
We've cut the top of each layer, so basically there is one layer of foam everythere, thay overlap just a little bit, so that the fabric would not peek through the "feathers". Does it make sense now? =___=

I'm planning on doing Garuda from FFXIV Realm Reborn... and she has four wings, plus the feathers on her head.
This foam will be so much better than what i was thinking of using, since i'm going for pretty close to accurate length.
Her wings are 1.5 as long as her body. So >> I have to do that for mine lol.

I have a few questions if that's okay
Sense you don't have a tutorial for the harness do you have any suggestions for it?
Also I need to make some black ones, is there a good paint for this material that's sturdy and will stay or do you suggest I keep looking for it to come in black because I'm already having a rough time looking for it in black.

Well the izolon website for me was rather hard to navigate considering I'm not russian but I manage to figure out what material you meant in american terms, which is laminate floor underlayment and I managed to find it black. Maybe you could include that term in your description so you're no bombarded as much with the questions. That is if I am correct haha. However I truly appreciate your quick response! Very awesome!

How thick were the pieces of polyethylene foam? I'm looking around online, but the only ones I've seen were thick. :'<
Thank you for the tutorial, none the less! Do you think craft foam would work as a replacement for a base? The wing I'm making aren't too big, but I've run out of white fabrics. ||D

3 mm or so, don't actually remember the exact measurments

For the small wings - yep, craft foam may work well. But, the'll be heavier and sturdier than ours.

Just simple random spray paint. Bought in the local DYI store, even. We were just looking for the right color.
