Description
I got it into my head to paint this a long time ago, and finally got around to it. I've always loved big bears.Painted on canvas with acrylics.

This is beautiful! The bear looks so fluffy. And warm. I love it.
I just remembered a conversation I had with one of my friends a while back about which animals we would love to hug as our last acts on Earth. (we were in Biology lecture, somehow it fit with the days lesson ) My friend wants to hug a polar bear. I'd hug a tiger.

FLUFFY!
Ever read the fairy tale East of the Moon, west of the sun? This reminds me of it.

I know, right! I always want to hug bears, which is, I'm told, an unhealthy idea. I know I've heard that story, but it must have been so long ago that I don't remember it. I'll have to go back and read it.

You should! It's about a girl who marries a prince under the guise of a bear. so plenty of bear hugging.

Oh wow. Those are the Northern Lights up there? This is entirely really interesting, but her half a face totally dominates the picture, like how intense her expression is. Intensely what, I don't know, but that's part of the charm. There's something totally unknowable about the arctic, except to her, and she's unknowable to us.
Love this. You and your monsters.

Yay, I'm glad you like it! Yeah, I had to get some lights up in there, which probably wouldn't actually appear in the snow, but hey. I loved painting her, and you're right, the tone of the thing is utterly mysterious to me as well. I don't know what she's thinking or feeling, which is unusual for me.
So glad you like it! I know, monsters are getting to be a real thing with me.

It's funny how sometimes works of art have a total life of their own. They surprise you, like beautiful strangers.
