That's my university project: development of animation movie based on Philip Reeve's "Mortal Engines" novel. Without making a movie itself.

This is one of my fave deviations on here. And I just don't fave whatever pops up on the screen, either.
It sparks the imagination

I don't want to be negative, honestly, and please don't be offended, but i think it could perhaps do with being bigger, supposed to have about 100 tracks with wheels as big as (bigger than) houses....
Awesome picture though, I wish i could draw like that (I tried to do london but gave up as i couldn't get the scale of it in, drawing on a4 paper)

We only see the front here, so those ten tracks in the front could go to a depth of ten tracks deep. (You don't have to be an engineer to know that having a single track going all the way back would be a bad idea: If just one of those tracks were destroyed, you'd loose one tenth of your weight distribution and the city would start to sink).
Also, compare the size of the buildings on the smaller traction city to London in the back. Depending on the wheel configuration (Are they the same wheel configuration you see on a Sherman Tank, or a Tiger I tank, or an Abrams, or a backhoe?) those tracks might actually be too large.

I guess it doesn't matter, cause it's only how I saw it when I read the books, but I imagined it hundreds of tracks across. There's a bit in the book where it mentions ".....just one of a hundred identical trenches; the huge track-marks of London stretching ruler-straight into the distance." and I always took that to mean that it was a hundred wide (and yeah, maybe ten or so deep).
But again, that's just my vision of it.
Maybe I should try to do my own London someday instead of commenting on others' telling them they've got it wrong : )

Actually in that case you were right to begin with: If the tracks were ten wide and ten deep, you would only see ten trenches because the additional tracks behind the front ten would be following in the frontmost track's trenches.

Oh well, it's just a technicality anyway.
Still a great picture : )

So much detail! And the city and town look just like I imagined, too.

Люблю книги Филипа Рива. Люблю ваши рисунки к его книгам.
Была рада узнать, что автору тоже очень понравились ваши работы. Вот ссылка на его дневник.

This is nice. I always had a bit of a hard time imagining these tiered, rolling cities - it sounds like such a cool concept, but my brain refused to give me a reasonable picture of how it worked - but I really, really like your version.
I especially like the way the big cogs and claws at the front make a sort of face.
