Description
Another one in the series of "Silent revolving rifles utilizing the Nagant 1895 gas-seal" this one actually using the design of said nagant. Basically, the magazine moves forward to mate with the barrel just before every round is fired. (www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dh1moj… ) this is normally done with the pull of the trigger (leading to a horrendously long trigger pull) but with this rifle it instead uses the recoil from the previous slug to cock the mechanism, releasing it with a pull of the trigger. It also features a break action and a manual ejection scheme (Which is not canon)Speaking of canon, this here rifle is courtesy of the awesome and their gun fav.me/d8vzvkk
in case you're wondering why there's the gap between the barrel and the grip, it's to facilitate removal and replacement of the silencer.
So, Stats time! non-Canon as usual.
Chamber: .357 Magnum
Action: Revolving mechanism, single-action, gas-seal, recoil actuated
Weight: 5 pounds
Effective range: 400 meters
Length: 20 inches
Feed: 6x revolver (manual eject)
Muzzle velocity: High subsonic
Made in C4D, no zbrush this time, I just recycled an old grip.

While it does look neat, functionally there is one main flaw. The problem with any attempt to suppress a revolving weapon is the cylinder gap, that little space between the chambers on the cylinder and the barrel. That little space is plenty to let out a lot of compressed gas and gunpowder flecks. Ergo, plenty of noise will be released before it even has a chance to reach the suppressor.
How you might rectify this, is extending the cylinder out to the full length of the barrel, effectively having 6 full length barrels, each one individually suppressed. You end up with a system with less wear on each individual part since you have 6 barrels each taking part of the stress and part of the heat, rather than just one taking every bit of stress and heat. Just a thought.

Good eye, but I did address this; look at the description.

Ok, sorry I must have missed that upon my first look. That is actually a pretty clever design, i didn't know that had been invented yet.

If it wouldn't be a problem yes, I would love it.

Actually, 7.62x30mmR is the original 1895 Nagant round, the .357 isn't going to be able to have silent properties with the gas seal chamber alone

I somehow find the rendering very pleasing, especially the white parts.
It pretty much has the appearance of real polyjet 3D printed parts.

Nice gun! Really love the texturing, it looks a bit like a matte affect with shiny! What texture effect is it?

Eh, depending on the part. I used a lot of anodized metals and some hard plastics. the grip is made of rough rubber, and the tan parts are made from hard plastic.
