It speaks on many levels of the moments before manifestation, when much of the world of perception appears as a dream. Yeah i suppose this one more than any of my others was more Dali-esque in nature, and in many ways more dangerously erotic. Thank you deeply for your enjoyment; always heartening to get such strong genuine encouragement from a handsome and tastefully sensitive creature. 
I expect i may be coming out with a piece in the relatively near future, oil painting, which you might enjoy--will make sure to post it so if you're watching it will update you. I'd like to get your feeling on that particular up and coming work.

i can't get my head around these things either, went nigh totally insane at certain points, diving into irrational states and then reassembling myself into coherence from the scraps, to make this one come together. Thanks for the kind appraisal.

For me, this is like the culmination of everything I have been seeing in your gallery. The color pallete is gorgeous, and the detail work is amazing.

On a personal note, my best escape from constant pain is to escape into my mind's fantasy world. I build alternate realities, times, places, full arrays of characters, and they usually run for months, then time for a new one.
Artists like you give me fuel for my escapes. Something I greatly appreciate.

The Approach of a Great Threshold piece was a strong journey....at one point during the creation of the work i fell into a nigh complete despair--after a radical kinetic instance with the paint due in part to immediate influences of the room and their channel.
The image of my beloved friend was in a sense, an anchor, a definitive reference and immutable element, (within the painting at any rate), from which the inspiration could carry forward as a cohesive vision and hope.
Yes he is wonderful.

on the aspect of the personal note and the escapisms...i've noticed that with expanded awareness and direct awareness, it can very much serve the same function, and with just as much awe and wonder, as a fantasy escapism....the apparently unforgiving, hardened, judgemental, restrictive character of the world, upon examination from an expanded awareness, breaks apart into a plentitude of various energies and attitudes, releasing a plethora of qualitative potentials which seemed impossible or non-existant from a general day to day view...
but that being said, it was quite literally the cover art of the original Dragonlance novels which inspired my work as a kid...the possibilities they allowed compared to what was generally around me....and later, through psychedelic awareness, i beheld the deeper synchronism to those escapes...to where they reformulated back into my mundane reality and in doing so transformed it systemically.
but in any case, i intend to keep giving more fuel for the imagination as i post, and am very glad you find some personal use for the work's intent, imagery, and heart...

I definitely try to reply to as many as i can, given the circumstances of my life. Unfortunately when i reply belatedly it is not due to my success as an artist lol, but rather dire financial situations and the overextension they create locally. For sure i am most responsive and attentive to those who are most responsive and attentive, i feel that i naturally tend to mirror the disposition and concern of those who would engage me, perhaps empathogenically.
The consideration you show also impresses me, you sincerely reflect upon life and those aspects which enter into your vision, with what i feel is a heart with integrity. I value that. namaste
