Last guy for a lil while. Might also tomorrow doodle some human stuff for evc-Here's also hoping I explained his opinions on the god's well enough-
[EDIT] Accepted 25th May
-----
Name: Tutankhamun
Meaning: Living Image of Amun
Nicknames: Tut
Age: 5 (Adult)
Species: Pure Sahra Lion
Gender: Male (Cis)
Sexual orientation: Unknown
Pride: Onuris (Warrior)
Appearance: Sleek and lean, Tut is a pale golden coloured male Sahra lion. His mane is a simple stripe of blonde on the back of his neck, and a small stuff of mane on his chest. He also has a small brown beard and a pink nose. Two defining features on him is 1) his eye markings, the top being pale and the bottom being darker and not the other way round, and 2) his eyelashes.
Personality:
+ Calm: While he worries about other's opinions on his own thoughts, in tense situations or in confrontations, Tutankhamun is difficult to make panic. Calm and collected, he is not one to worry and slip up.
+ Clever: Fast thinker on his feet. Present him a challenge and he will quickly figure out how to overcome it.
+ Listener: If you have a problem and want a shoulder to lean on, look no further. Currently he is a loner, but should someone open him up, he is a wonderful person to speak to about your problems.
- Diffidence: What is he good at? He has no clue. He has a lack of confidence, always doubting himself. Even when he figures out a problem, he simply shrugs. Anyone else can do it, right? This trait somewhat plays part in the next negative traits.
- Quiet: He seems to always think. Lost in his mind, his thoughts and concerns. He speaks to some but not to others. He will speak to the Chief and Shamans, but others he will not. Even when sparring, he will not comment on the other's strengths and weaknesses. He merely gets it done and walks away.
- Loner: To himself. Too timid and silent to speak to fellow Warriors, or friendly Hunters. He's just a lion in the background.
Backstory:
Tutankhamun. So much to be expected from you.
Tut was born the last and youngest son of Warriors from the Onuris pride, their bloodline connecting to it from many ago. The parents look at him felt joy; a beautiful, healthy baby boy. His name came from his pelt; he was an image of Amun, the sun. Bright, golden...he was perfect.
Tutankhamun was a curious cub. Silent and observant. A wonderful boy.
But he asked questions.
"Dad, why do we live in this desert?"
"Nekhbet allows us to live here, my son. We thrive because of Her!"
"Why?"
"This was once a thriving land! But the old lions...offended Ra. He ruined it, to curse them. And then Nekhbet came to us and offered us life if we remained in this land. That is why, my boy, we give thanks to her."
"But why did She tell us to remain, and not forgive us for our sins?"
"Well-"
Questions that made his parent's blood boil.
"Why didn't She use Her messengers to lead us to a land like the old? Why has She not offered help? Why is She leaving us alone? Why-"
"Shush now!" His father would growl. "No more of those foolish questions!"
While he went silent, Tut's questions never stopped. They festered in his mind, away from the bad environment.
If Nekhbet was such a loving goddess, whom gave Her people a home and food in replacement of their manes, why did she keep them in an area so dead? Surely it wouldn't have taken much effort to point them in the direction of better land? Or what if they prayed to Ra for forgiveness? Or perhaps offered Her their loyalty if she lead to them a better place? Why leave them to rot in the sun?
Ultimately, Tut's parents would dismiss and snarl his questions away. 'Shush you brat', his mother would say, 'or they'd mistake your stupid questions for disloyalty and remove you! All of us! And it'd be your fault.'
Their cold nature, their dismissal of his questions, comments when he irritated them and fear of being exiled for his ideas and questions completely destroyed his confidence. He couldn't thrive. If he did what they wanted, they showered him with compliments. But ask the questions he itched for an answer too, and they shut him down and belittle him. So he obeyed, becoming submissive and silent around his parents.
But his thoughts on the gods never went away, and he eventually grew somewhat resentful to the god's. In his eyes, no merciful god or goddess would leave their people to rot in a place like this. Not especially Nekhbet. She was no goddess who saved them; she was a goddess who was killing them.
When it came for him to be a Shadow to someone, his parents pushed for him to be a Warrior, or even a Shaman. He secretly wished to be a Hunter, he had the speed for it, but he went along with his parents. Tutankhamun couldn't become a Shaman, much to their dismay, but he could become a Warrior and so was pushed into that. While he was complimented about his skill and quick thinking by his mentor, he shrugged and often looked at his paws. Anyone could do it, really. It was simple.
Once he passed and joined the ranks, he finally done what he always wanted; he left his parents. He views them rarely now, opting to be alone on patrols and in a den somewhere out of their grasp. He was free from their brush off's, but now feared what his opinions would do to him. With no one to discuss his wavering religious opinions, due to him being alone and his fear of what may happen if the pride found out his ideas, he is in an internal battle with himself. Why are the god's so cruel?
Maybe someone can comfort and offer him answers one day.
Other:
- Tut has two brothers.
- His eyelashes help with sand, and he ultimately doesn't mind them too much. They're relatively long too. If belittled for them, he simply shrugs it off.
- Should his mane grow out, it wont be very big. Simply a thin mane around his neck and nothing more. Same applies to his beard.
- His brother's often joke he grew more fur on his beard then his neck. Tut comments nothing.
- Despite his swaying opinion on religion, he is not open about it and is respectful to those who do believe in it. He will follow weddings and funeral customs to a T without any problem.
- He is based off of a character whom can be found should you dig through my pictures. The character in turn was based off of Tutankhamun, hense the name
- (Side note I also call him Tutu, don't get confused pffft)
