Description
Recipe for papier mache a la Elliekin:Boil 5 cups of water in a saucepan.
In a bowl, mix half a cup to two-thirds of a cup of flour with a cup of cold water, and stir it until it's free of lumpy bits.
Add the cold water-flour to the boiling water and stir it for two or three minutes.
Let it cool down.
You will now have more glue than you know what to do with.

I've never done it, but I think if you make the pepakura with sturdy paper or card you should be able to papier mache over the top using thin newspaper or tissue paper. So long as you let it dry between layers so that it doesn't get soggy and collapse, I can see it working.

I made mine!
It wouldn't withstand being sat on, however.

Yesssssss. Ohgod, now I want... just a mass photo (or more likely collection of photos) of all the Bioshock artists dressed up as splicers, complete with masks. 8D

This is absolutely kickass. As soon as I get my hands on some flour and spare time, I'm gonna make another mask. Maybe the one that random Toasty was wearing when you black out in Welcome to Rapture?

I'm goin to have to gank this recipe from you, as I was a little baffled on which paper mache recipe to play with X3

Yeah, I was too. XD I found a site that gave a recipe with less flour, but that just turned out way too runny, so I made it again with about twice the flour and it turned out perfect.
Just... don't leave it for more than a night or two, like I did. Mmm, bright pink mould. XD

I've read somewhere that adding a little salt to flour paper mache recipes helps prevent the molding.

Thank you! It was a pretty experimental process, so I'm fairly proud of how it's turned out.
