Description
***PLEASE FULL-VIEW OR DOWNLOAD***EDIT: In Step 25, I forgot to mention that I colored in some shades in her skin with C3. Sorry about that!
I know I don't color with Copics very well yet, but I decided I might as well show you how I do. Ha ha, I should have left the girl's hair pink... it looked better like that, in my opinion. I also forgot to include that I used black Sakura Micron Pigment Liners too! Sorry if the tutorial doesn't help much. I hope it helps and that you enjoy it anyway!
Here is the actual deviation if you'd like to see the finished product!

You can find them on the the official website or on this art website or on eBay. I can't specifically tell you where you can find them in stores because I only know where to get them where I live.

I actually have no idea. I've never used them before. I'd like to know myself. If they have the same alcohol-based ink as Copics, they should be good. They probably don't have the brush tips that Copic Sketches have, though.

Hmm, yea- i heard they were pretty good, obviously not as good as the Copics, but they should work as a cheap substitute xD (at least for ametures)

Ha ha! I still have to scan pictures in because I have trouble drawing directly on the computer (coloring is fine, but drawing on the other hand...)!

Lol -yep, i was practicing drawing on it today, and it is really hard -.-
It probably took me an hour just to do the line art xD I don't think i'll try doing it again that way...

Gorgeous, a really nice tutorial, and lovely art. One of the most thorough skin tutorials I've seen. Skin is such a pain to colour!

Uh, I just randomly draw strokes here and there? 8D; I don't know how I draw hair, actually, so the steps there were kind of vague.

Wow, this tutorial is really helpful! Great job, your art is just really beautiful!
Just asking, where did you get the white gel pen and how long did the markers last without refilling? Coz I just bought a set of 72 Copic Ciaos and I just wanted to know how long it would be before refilling, if I don't overwork them and use them sparingly...

ember-snow In reply to artydude12 [2008-09-29 00:32:46 +0000 UTC]
Really? Hooray!
Ah, I got it at Art Media, which is an art store (could you tell?). XD I bet you could find one at Michael's, but I'm not 100% sure. Um, the markers last me quite a while because I don't color very large spaces with the same color (except for skin). I don't use them very frequently, either (so I can't really tell you how long they last). Um, just make sure that you refill your important colors.

how'd you do that without ripping the paper? cuz, if I color in the same place with markers to much, it just rips...TT_TT

What type of paper are you using?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ember-snow In reply to Yami-Nabe [2008-09-17 04:28:13 +0000 UTC]
Ah, I see. Printer paper isn't as sturdy (and certainly not as thick) as sketchbook paper or cardstock. I recommend using those thicker papers (or you can use the back of a manga manuscript paper).

I like this tut. Im not very good at copic markers, and personally dont have any either. XD where did you get your copic markers? Are they expensive? D8
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ember-snow In reply to Nikooru-desu [2008-09-14 20:37:10 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! I get my markers at a store called Art Media for around $5 each, but you can buy them at several stores online (which usually sell them for cheaper): Copic Marker Official Purchase Site, Akadot Retail, or dickblick.com.
You could probably find some on eBay or amazon.com too.
