Description
Reliable in its uses the Dagger Class is a variant of the venerable Razor, swapping its mass driver weapons for additional heavy missile armament. Rare even in the Peacekeeper fleet the Dagger saw widespread usage in the Draken war where its large barrages of munitions provided ample fire support to larger ships from a relatively cheap and small platform. It was this proof of the moment performance that would see the Dagger incorporated into the Horizon Fleet Initiative, upgraded as it was with better systems and the latest Union missile technology. Unlike the Razor the Dagger is fully dedicated to the role of offensive fire, deploying missile volleys into enemy vessels at range and now using its modern spinal accelerator to add a harder hitting punch to this tactic. Found traditionally in proper battlefleet formations the Dagger is still a rare vessel, and finds itself deploying alongside heavier elements such as Ferrum class battleships, supplementing the battleships firepower with added blanket munition attacks. While performing very well during the Draken war the Dagger has ironically seen much less use in the period of the Great Reclamation, its anti ship role relegating it to being on standby or deployed rarely, but when it has deployed its missiles have helped turn the tide against several foes including the Unnamed, Eosian rebels and even insurrectionists. If there are larger fleet battles to come, it is quite likely that the Dagger will be there ready to assist with its weaponry.
