I've gone through a lot of changes this past year. I really feel as if I've cast off my old skin and re-emerged as someone new, someone better than I've ever been before. I guess this sort of captures it, in a sense.Also, be kind about the wrinkles on the foot in the foreground. I'm really interested in trying to do more of the wrinkles instead of smoothing them out, but I'm still not good at them. They work, but . . . I can see the problems.
I'm also leaving the filter OFF on this one. Less than 4" of bum-crack (on the real image) shouldn't need to be censored. Probably will need to be, though - damn Puritans.
Charcoal pencils. I don't know the dimensions - around 22x30"

The wrinkles are very well-drawn, I don't think you have anything to regret. Really beautiful drawing, and nice idea to focus in on areas you don't see very often.

the more i look at this the more i like it. i think it isn't just composition, but the movement. almost like giving birth to ones self. i think you are right about the sexual component but it is not super sexual or erotic to me.

that's what i thought, too, when i cropped down the reference photo - like i was climbing out of myself. i also got a very dirty sexual vibe from it - not like an erotic sex act, but something else like it. but then, most art that focuses in on that part of the body tends to lend itself to being able to be interpreted as 'sexual' in some way.

The concept and rendering are great, but for some reason it makes me feel ill. I can't put my finger on the reason why I have that kind of gut reaction. It is a great piece though, very visceral and "alive", so ignore my strange stomach, lol

you might be feeling sick because it has a slightly sexual motif to it - a kind of disturbing sexual motif. intrusive or aggressive. i didn't mean for it when i started, but i realize that it's there and i think that it adds to the depth of concept. *is feeling philosophical today* lol

I have no problem with sexual things, I'm not squeamish about that. I think it may be the intrusive/violation feeling that is making me uneasy. I'm not really sure, lol. Good piece though.

Fantastic work. The composition is rather surreal, it was hard to figure at 1st. The shading is gorgeous too and those feet are almost photorealism they're that good!
