my finished 1/35 tank and mech side by side. these too are gonna go into an upcoming diorama i am working on.i tried to get them colored as close as possible, but do to random stuff(my weather and primer) the mech is a little more beat up than the tank. the mech might get some more details once i have the diorama all set up. and the tank and mech are still pose-able, so there poses and setup still might change.
now i got to get working on the figurines, so say tuned for the finished diorama.

It's pretty dang cool that they make sci-fi vehicles like mechs to scale with other model kits, stuff like this looks too cool.

lol they don't make mechs to scale to tanks and other military kits(or they are very rare) i kitbashed a gundam model to make this badboy

Ah, well then even more props to you! I may have to do this sometime, I know gundams are a dime a dozen.

yup its a merkava, and yes its a bashed zabanya. thanks i couldn't remember what the gundam i use was called. good eye!

love the juxtaposition. Kind of nice to see combined arms type scenes instead of "MOTHER@$%@$ING ROBOTS BEAT EVERYTHING AND HAVE NO WEAKNESSES"

Is the mech like an autonomous AI, or does it have a pilot?

i was thinking autonomous AI. at first i was going to have a crew man poking out. but when i started kitbashing i went in a different direction. i was thinking about making it an "eye" and that might help with it looking more automated.

I agree that a single eye would definitely reinforce the AI feeling. Scale-wise it might be tight for a human occupant. IMO a computer intelligence is better suited to manipulating those cool tentacle arms -which I love!

yea that what i thought(about the human occupant) i had at one point a bigger body mocked up, but i liked this design better. lol and i had been wanting to do a mech with tentacles for awhile. and thanks for the great feedback!

Have you played Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2? It doesn't exactly compare with Crysis but it's still cool-it's an Xbox platinum game!

yea dude, i have both Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 1+2 for 360. wicked fun games. big fan of the good tom Clancy games, been a fan since the first rainbow 6 for pc.love splinter cell, but as far as spy games go nothing is better than METAL GEAR,lol i play tons of games, but this year been kinda sucky so far for releases, and i haven't been playing much.

Yeah I played Advanced Warfighter 1 on PS2 but GRAW2 on Xbox. I'm playing on the hardest difficulty and it's better like that.
Played/watched almost all the Splinter Cell games, except Double Agent and Conviction. Never played Rainbow (except Rainbow 6 on my ipod-actually a fun game), or Metal Gear.

yea hopefully they will deliver as well,but a lot of big titles have been misses this year. resident evil operation raccoon city, mass effect 3, silent hill hd, just to name a few i was hyped for but massively disappointing. Btw the Metal Gear hd that came out in December is wicked good, comes with 5 games and the used price is worth it just for metal gear soild 3.

lol i might just be saying that because i am a huge metal gear fan, but if you have never played a metal gear your missing out. and metal gear 3 is the first game in the time line. spy stuff,sneaking, over the top action and huge mechs, how can you go wrong?

yea i think you would like them, there a reason Metal Gear is concerted one of the best game franchises of all time. the story is wicked insane so you might want to do some research and start with 3.
