Blight can enhance Upgrade, but Upgrade cannot enhance Blight.

Blight is as powerful as Toxin from Earth-616.

Whereas most symbiotes are simply another being attached to a host in which both debate on what to do, Blight is simply a transformation and thus an extension of Ben's will, meaning that he has not had to deal with Blight taking over at bad times.

It all happened billions of eons ago, with an ancient, nearly immortal being who’s existence pre-dates the universe itself. He was known as many things, “The King in Black”, “Lord of the Abyss”, “The Void”, but his real name, was “Knull”. Knull was at war with other cosmic beings called “The Celestials”. They desired to bring light to the cosmos, but Knull was darkness and emptiness itself. As long as there’s more darkness than light in the Cosmos, Knull will remain stronger than The Celestials. But they were many. From his own shadow, Knull created four perfect weapons. But his weapons were more than just tools, they were life forms, intelligent trusted servants representing the vacuum of space. The complete absence of light created for the soul purpose of serving Knull in combat. Pleased with his creations, he named them “Klyntar”, a word in his ancient tone that meant “cage”, for Knull’s enemies will be unable to escape their destructive abilities.

As Knull confronted the Celestials, their epic battle shook the heavens. Several moons quaked by the clash of their weapons. But in the end, Knull was victorious. And to this day, space contains more emptiness than light, all thanks to the Klyntar. They gave Knull the power to slay nearly every Celestial, forcing the rest to flee into the farthest regions of space.

When the war was over, The Klyntar, ever obedient asked Knull how best they could continue to serve him. But Knull said to the Klyntar, “I created you for one purpose. And that purpose is fulfilled. I will return to the void of existence, alone. You are useless to me now.” But the Klyntar, not wanting to be separated from their creator, clung to him. The defiance of his creations enraged Knull and abandoned the Klyntar, left to be alone. He showed no concern for the fate of the living creatures he created. The Klyntar stayed in their solitude. They felt betrayed, abandoned and forgotten.

In time, their sun begins to die out, and it can no longer keep the asteroid in its orbit. For ages, the Klyntar hurled through space, unmoving but alive.

Meanwhile, Knull would learn that the Celestials were drones created by the Celestialsapiens for the purpose of expanding the universe. Thus Knull went to the Forge of Creation to conquer and destroy all Celestialsapiens, but severely underestimated the Celestialsapiens' omnipotence. The battle ended with Knull incarcerated in a universe filled with nothing but bright light.

Years had passed, adrift and alone, The Klyntar were surprised when a new host arrived. An explorer from another planet known as Tonrom found the Klyntar, and accepted them. The Klyntar dreamed to be more than just tools, and their host agreed. They would make each other stronger, as equals unlike the cruel and controlling Knull. This was truly a symbiotic relationship. The alien host returned to her home world. The original Klyntar became known as the Four Sisters. And then, they multiplied even further, spreading out amongst these new host, empowering them. And for a time, they lived their dream, finding a new purpose, thriving as equals, in peace with this alien race and beyond.

However, there was a splinter cell of the Klyntar known as the Synoptic that believed it to be foolish to think they could live in peace with another species, for their original purpose was to be created for war and destruction, and to to live in harmony with others, but have dominance over them. The actions of the Synoptic has led many species across the universe(except for the inhabitants of Tonrom along with other planets such as the ones in the Anur System) to distrust Klyntar. The Cerebrocrustaceans have even created a species of predators to hunt Klyntars just to protect themselves from the Synoptic. The predators of the Klyntars are called the Xenophage. However, one Klyntar left them only because he was considered "a loser" amongst Tonrom. He believed he would find his purpose on another world.

Eddie Brock is Peter Parker's childhood friend. Their families were close and they grew up together. (Their mothers were best friends, and their fathers were business partners.) One day, the four adults went to a conference in Queens and died in a plane crash. Brock and Peter developed a fraternal relationship and often addressed each other affectionately as “bro.” During high school, Brock protected Peter from bullies like Flash Thompson and was also popular quarterback. Peter even told him about his powers when he first got them, and promised to keep them a secret and give him help or just someone to vent to if he ever needed it. After his graduation, Brock enrolled in the Empire State University with his sweetheart, Anne Weying, to become a journalist. To help support his tuition, he got a job as Dr. Curt Connors’ personal lab assistant. When Gwen Stacy and Peter become lab interns, Brock gleefully welcomes them both.

One day the symbiote known as Venom escaped from the Life Foundation and seek out a new host, eventually believing to have found the perfect host in the famous web-slinger Spider-Man. It would bond with Peter and give him a new Black Suit. This would bring the Life Foundation to start hunting him down. Spider-Man believed that his new suit was a huge improvement, but noticed that he was becoming more violent, even almost killing one of the criminals he was fighting against. Spider-Man would try to reject Venom, but the symbiote clung onto him like it was glued on. Later, Spider-Man would try to tear the symbiote off in a church tower, only to accidentally knock himself into the church bell. The loud noises coming from the church weakened the symbiote, allowing Spider-Man to finally tear him off. Venom would be recaptured by the Life Foundation a few hours later.

One day, Eddie published an excellent report of Spider-Man taking down the Carnage Killer, Cletus Kassidy, that made him famous at E.S.U.. Eddie was running an investigation on the Life Foundation as he believed something seemed off about them. He never said anything of suspicion or spite about them in public as he did not have enough evidence to link them to anything. He would be contacted by Dora Skirth who told him that Carlton Drake, leader of the Life Foundation, was conducting tests that end up killing people. Reluctantly, but intriguingly, agreeing, Eddie entered the Life Foundation facility and became bonded with a symbiote(of which was the same symbiote that left the Synoptic). Realizing that the symbiote was alive, Eddie came into contact with Drake’s workers who attempted to apprehend him.

After trying to expose the Life Foundation, Eddie came to contact with Peter(after a fight over a misunderstanding), and learned that the symbiote was killing Eddie and left it alone, only to be captured by Drake’s Symbiote enforcers: Phage, Lasher, Scream, and Agony. After Eddie Brock was captured by the Life Foundation to be interrogated by Carlton Drake, now bonded with the symbiote Riot, Venom would crawl himself onto Peter again, bringing Spider-Man back in black. The two were not enjoying it, with Venom’s more violent tendencies conflicting with Peter’s ideals and with Venom wanting to bring the Life Foundation to them to interrogate the henchmen while Peter wanted to play it smart. Eventually Peter just said, “Venom. Listen. I don’t like you, and you don’t like me. But we’re going to have to work together if we’re going to find Eddie and stop Drake’s operation. But we have to play it smart. They’re looking for you so we can’t just make a scene when they’re all prepared for it. We know where their base is. We’re just going to have to be stealthy if we’re gonna both save Eddie and expose the Life Foundation. When we find Eddie, this partnership we have is over as soon as you want. Deal?” To which Venom reluctantly agreed. While held captive, Eddie was saved by the symbiote-bonded Spider-Man who gave Venom to him as they planned to stop Drake. Once they defeated Riot and his Symbiote followers, as well as exposed the Life Foundation for their crimes, Eddie decided to take the symbiote with him, together becoming known as Venom.

Spider-Man put in a good word with Magister Turanga Drex of the New York Plumbers branch. Drex then asked if Eddie was willing to join a Plumbers Black Ops team known as the Xenociters, as they could use someone like him. Brock and Venom agreed to be a part-time member because they like to have their freedom. Spidey even joked that he was now Agent Venom, and Eddie had to admit he kind of liked that name. Some of the Missions Venom has been on is stopping a Yajuta hunting party on Aranhaschimmia, eradicating a Xenomorph infestation on Arioldrome, and dealing with Brood Respawned from Dimension 19121.

Some other symbiotes who have been to or are from Earth include Carnage, Toxin, Anti-Venom, Scream, Feral(Blight's offspring), Mania, Kuro, Lasher, Phage, Agony, and Dark Shadow(a symbiote bonded with an Ectonurite student named Fumikage Tokoyami at Plumber Academy).

Symbiotes reproduce asexually by oozing out their spawn. This asexual reproduction is not bound by gender as Klyntar are genderless. Not even Blight was an exception to the reproduction as it one day oozed out it's spawn, but unlike Big Chill, the process was less instinctive and just happened without Ben realizing it in human or Klyntar form. This symbiote spawn was known as Feral, and she would eventually bond with one of Ben’s Necrofriggian children(now in Froszurn’s(Sentient Ultimate Big Chill) care), Glacier.

Anti-Venom was created by VonBirkin of the Neo Rooters as an artificial symbiote that would bond with Stormfront as a means of outmatching Ben Tennyson and the Omnitrix in every way. However, during a raid by the Xenociters, the symbiote was lost and assumed destroyed. However, Anti-Venom would later bond to Flash Thompson. After a fight between Venom and Anti-Venom, Venom would help Flash to get the symbiote under control and Thompson would even become a soldier of S.H.I.E.L.D. in order to get a better grip on the symbiote.
