what a saucy dragon it is. it’s got super saiyan sideburns and that’s hella cool
I started this as soon as mega rayquaza was announced, and the only reason it took this long to finish is because it’s so freakin’ huge.
My poor computer wasn’t built for this much photoshop ;-; final file size: 375MB, 10,800x7200px, 36x24 inches (almost a metre long) and painted almost exclusively on one layer. /lies down

Poor Rayquaza, it only wanted to sleep and then they dumped all the weather in the world on it, no wonder it's grumpy.
Thank you! I definitely had fun with the lava since I hadn't painted any before, but the actual glowing effects were sloshed in last because they took ten minutes for photoshop to render because ~really massive file~

The three way deadlock between a leviathan, a behemoth and a Ziz dragon. This is by far one of the most epic, dramatic, climatic work I've ever seen depicting Pokemon. It honestly catches the vibe of the world coming to an end completely; as three ancient titans settle the score with each other. Truly worthy of the title "Cataclysmic Showdown"
Impeccable work.

The details and coloring of this are just amazing! It really conveys the grand feel of a fight between these three well. And holy moly at that file size! How did your computer handle it? Mine starts to struggle at anything 3000x3000 and up.

I left all the effect layers until the very end - so the majority of the work was on one layer. Once I started piling in the glow effects and other things, it really started to take a toll, but that only took half an hour at the end so it was okay.

It's facing up to two world-wrecking monstrosities, it's gotta be. For storyline purposes, at least. No doubt it'll be banned from a lot of online battles, heh.

yeah i can totally see why it took you so long to finish this. but it was definitely worth it; i can really see the effort you put into this -- especially with the lighting and such on the water

It's for the 3DS and 2DS yup - unfortunately I have neither of those so I'll miss out ;u;
It's super great that they're remaking it though, I sure do have fond memories of it since Sapphire was the first Pokemon game I played. And even if you haven't played the originals, it's the favourite region for many people so the remakes are going to be amazing either way!
