Description
Yes, I know. The "needles and sutures" quote is from "The City on the Edge of Forever" and not "Mirror, Mirror", but I really like that quote. I twisted it around and I think it works pretty well.I know that Mirror!McCoy has the Terran Empire insignia on his shirt, but I wanted to draw the standard science insignia. Maybe Mirror!McCoy came to the prime reality (their clothes switch when they cross the universes). There isn't really a story behind this picture other than Mirror!Bones is just sadistic and has a lot of bloodlust.
I did not make the background insignia. I don't know who created it... I just looked for the biggest version I could find and then I lightened it and made it blue.
He's got scars on his face and arms... probably elsewhere too. [Ahem!]

Dammit,sir...I'm a nurse, not a sfx consultant ...LOL! Honestly, you're totally right...The amount of spray depends on the wound,so to get realisim.you can check out the sites I mentioned, or just do as I do,make sh*t up, and if it looks good to you,go with it...I have confidence that you will do very well, however you choose to do it,and I for one, will be waiting with bated breath to see what you come up with...Fulll speed ahead,my dear!

It's me again...The blood spray stuff depends on how deep the cut is,and wether you have damaged the artery or vein enough to cause actual spray,or subdural (below the skin)leaking of the blood ,which usually causes bruises, not actual blood flow outside the skin...You normally get actual spray if you cut an artery of a large size, such as the carotid (jugular) or the femoral (high in the groin, like Hannibal Lector did the guy who tried to get his fingerprints on the silver bracelet...the only reason that didn't spray like a garden house, is that the detective guy was holding it for a moment, and the guy's pants muffled the actual spray) and in crush injuries, such as a arm or leg which is torn off,as in a car wreck or other trauma which involves a lot of tissue damage...Quentin Tarratino makes good movies, with a lot of spray (boy, does he!)but realistically, I've never seen a case of spray that went more than a foot or two,and then slowed down, mostly because we didn't allow it to proceed untill we were standing in a foot of gore..lol And, the human body only has so much blood at any one time, so even with a bad rip,or a very bad crush injury, the amount of blood available may look like gallons, but really only a few pints, and then the patient dies of massive blood loss, so...You may have to google or youtube some really nasty pics (or go to rotten.com,but only if you have a barf nag handy...I've seen everything, but even I gag at some of that crap...sheesh!) Anyway, I didn't mean to write Was and Peace here, but I thot you'd like some insider info...Hope this helps, and I'm really looking forward to your horror Star Trek stuff....Call me crazy, but I do love my slasher films and such....*hugs, and another cracked cackle....

HA! Well, your description simply confirmed things I already knew. I think my struggle is mostly the pressure itself. Like, it is an intense spray, or more of a light spurt... and I know that depends on the nature of the injury, too... BAH!

One more comment...You do the blood stuff very well, and I've seen the real thing often enough,so I guess that makes me sort of an expert, more or less..lol If you need any pointers in this area, let me know...Be very glad to help if i can...and McCoy,naked and covered in blood,or CoolWhip,or strawberry jam,or chocolate sprinkles, sounds like a really red-hot,super-good,and totally yummy idea...possibly my new midnight snack,God help us!*wipes drool off chin, and gives out with another cracked cackle...

Ha! Thanks!
One thing I struggle with is smeared blood on fabric and skin, and I also struggle with bleeding (like blood spraying from a wound) because I'm not sure how much pressure or how long it lasts.
....OH WOW. NAKED BLOODY BONES. Um, that sounds like something possibly... [Ahem!]

i cannot do backgrounds either. i am taking a class that focuses on backgrounds and it is so tedious and boring. give me my nude figure studies and i will be happy for the rest of my life.
