My second completed animation attempt. (the first one )Gah, it's been a while. I spent, I think, a total of 4 hours on this one with no light table. I usually throw together a makeshift one if I try animation, but I just traced the whole thing as best and as fast as I could this time with thin, typing paper from who knows when. (I drew 24 frames and added a few with PS for the fade out)
The flow turned out better for the expression and tear than I had expected. And considering I've never gone to animation school, or got past the basics in highschool, I think I'm improving. I'm doing tons of self study on youtube right now. You can find so many demo reels there!

I deal with a lot of severe disorders and sickness in my family and have a few myself, so I can tell you with great certainty that although it's such a hard thing to swallow at first, you don't have to let a disorder define you. ^^ Best wishes to you!

I'd say it came out really really good! I'm glad I found this animation cause I am working on a realy similar one but kind of got stuck on the number of pages I should use, so you said 24 huh?

I cheated a bit by slowing it down just a tad. But it's not off by much. It's good to note that I added some extra frames for the fade out at the end, however.

Oh! Also, you can use a camera - even a movie camera strapped to something vertical and steady and place the drawings below in a sturdy position. That's how we did it in highschool. X'D X'D

Hey this one's good! As far as animation goes, I'd say all's moot except that when she jerks her head backwards, there is no reactive/bounce movement and it gives it a feel of stiffness.

In hindsight I totally agreed with you. It was the first movement "swish" I had attempted, and completely forgot to thrust the hair to the left before it's rebound and swing to the right. And those braids - I just got to tired of them, I didn't even bother when I should have XD
But I guess the title amateur gives me a little bit of forgiveness in these areas.. X'D

Waowww so smooth... it's got a really nice flow to it. 
The progression kind of makes me think that she should have tears in her eyes as she looks up as well... coz she seems to be fighting to keep them down. And then perhaps some flying off to the side with the motion of her head.... aaahhh I watch too much anime.

A lot of people were saying that, and originally I was going to go that way too, but I wanted to try something which didn't come across very effective the way I had imagined it, I think. X'D ahaha - next time!

Haha - I may try it again now that I know the basic timing principle of frames per second. Originally I wanted her to flick her head up, hold it, pained, then cry. But the timing was off. X'D like badly. hahaha

I... I.. wouldn't neccessarily be opposed to a tutorial... X'D but.. I wouldn't for the life of me know how to make one for animation. hahha. I'm just a novice myself, sorry - I hardly know the right and wrongs nevermined the boldness to snap others into shape with my experimentation.... X'D oh dear.. I can see the creations spawning from my advice in my head... ahahah. I SHALL NOT LET THIS HAPPEN. Hehe
