Description
Me and my make-shift light table again.This one isn't completed (still have an entire sweeping movement after the shocked face to complete), it's still very rough and needs some more inbetweens for better flow. This is just the start. But I thought I'd share the wip since it has been a while. Gah! Yes, sorry guys.
I was watching some demo reels then tutorials for animation on youtube and came across one made in photoshop, I was amazed by his technique of making each frame exceedingly different from the last and thus creating a very fast and expressive animation. I'm testing it out in this. I thought of this character when looking up "Nocturna" stuff [link]
Again, help is welcomed, but go easy on me XD This is my third animation attempt, I've never gone to animation school and I'm a tender hearted soul. ♥

It's coming out pretty good. I don't know anything about animation so I can't give advice
But as you said it's a work in progress, and I can't wait to see how it comes out. It's going to be great.

Honestly - very proud of you for taking the effort and patience for this gorgeous piece!!! (when i clicked it-a mustard commercial on the side of this page loaded and played right away. i was thinking; wow! she even added music!!!!)
You continue to shine with your creativeness and really want to share with others what you love 
i couldnt be more imprressed with the style you chose to do. serisously. ive watched countless hours of sketches, double takes, speed tests ect the same as you ---- i really apprieate the character you designed. isnt it nice to see someone you personally created in such a real state.

It does feel quite something else when you can make a character that doesn't exist "come to life" in a certain sense. It's really cool!

Epic! I'm so glad to see you're still working. Again, the fact that you did this by hand is mind-boggling.
The animation /is/ a little choppy, but as a work in progress it looks like a really cute little clip. I especially like his last expression, where it's almost like that lightbulb just went on. The sort of,
"... --!"
moment. Apologies if I'm looking at it wrong, of course.
As I've put up before, I also love how the clothing and hair also move in your short animations. The flaps on the aviator cap look like they'll be helpful in keeping the animation fluid in the finished product.
For now, this short comment is all I'm able to muster. (I'm sorry!) I'm hoping to see this finished sometime in the future~!

Really? Is it? I find working on the computer irritatingly uncooperative. I guess I like working with my hands, moving things around with my fingers. I feel like I have more control over it. ^^

I'll agree; I personally enjoy coloring on the computer because of layers and such that you can use ... But it's much easier and somehow more fulfilling when you can move the pencil, paper, eraser, and whatever else with your hands. It's the beauty of doing things in real life, and that seems to get lost now and again in this internet/computer/"hurry-it-up" age.
I honestly do enjoy these expressions, though--obviously coupled with the others you've done. I can't help but wonder what he said, who he's talking to, and what the reply was (or what he caught himself saying). xD It looks like an entertaining punchline. One I might be laughing about for a good thirty seconds. (I'll add that about ten of them would be for the expression)
And lastly, I do consider my comment short. >v< The reason being that I like to figure out--and later point out to the creator--what EXACTLY it is that I enjoy about their piece. When I get more specific there's more on the page, and I tend to feel better because I can let them know what I appreciate about their style. That may be just me, but still. Either way, I enjoyed it, Epic~

hehe. Glad you think so. I didn't think too much about the dialogue myself. But I really wanted to work on such a classic reaction. Maybe one day I'll put more meaning to it. ;>
I wish I had your talent! Some days I stare at a picture for 5 minutes, flabbergasted, breathlessly taking it all in, and so amazed that I can't formulate a worthwhile comment to save my life. At moments like that I can't pinpoint how to describe why I like the image so much except that "homigoodness, it's breathtaking" - which it is, but that's the same reaction as half the comments posted already. XD Pahaha

To be honest, sometimes I'd rather have the talent of giving that flabbergasted reaction to people as opposed to telling them why I'm the one being so awed. That being said, telling the artist what's good isn't all that hard. If you like everything, then pick three or four things that really jump out at you; something you noticed immediately or what about the preview was interesting. Color, pose, energy, expressions, character, detail, the list goes on.

It looks awesome man, so expressive! And that's the most important thing. Is it timed out? It seems like after he starts speaking the expression changes to o__O too fast, but, I don't know what the dialogue is or anything so that could be contextual.
I luv how his ear-flappy things dangle after he stops moving... good work!

Thanks oodles! This is me free-styling, but yes, contextually he's supposed to do that. I have a bit more to go with it. It will make more sense when I finish, I think. ^^ Once I do finish with the major movements, I plan to slow it down just a tad with more inbetween frames too.

But 'timed out' has a new meaning since computers I think, when the allocated time has run out for an activity, so that it stops/becomes unavailable, like a download stopping coz it takes too long. That sort of thing :>
