Description
Ectionists are a species of seemingly aquatic creatures, with upper torsos reminiscent of The chest and abdomens of more humanoid forms, topped with growths resembling heads without any adorning features save for a corrugated surface of rubbery skin and eye-like masses. Their only appendages are massive tentacles that support their bodies as well as thin, stalky arm-like limbs, though it is unknown if these limbs are artificial or not.

This obscurity of their features is cause by shroud of material that is not-quite-like fog. The stuff is more like smoke and it haunts the bodies of the Ectionists almost like it were their own, contained atmosphere; whether this shroud is produced naturally from their bodies or something of manufactured origin is unknown, but the material surrounding them is what allows them communication.

They have no audible language, nor are they telepathic in nature. They're a species whose language is entirely written, yet still there is more to the runes they produce. To say they are telepathic is evidently false, but their language, however, somehow displays ESP phenomena that allows the Ectionists to cross all language barriers; the language itself appears to be consisted of runes made up of entirely circular structure with many of the runes changing in definition depending on context in relation to other runes; if the Ectionists had a spoken language then chances are the definitions would also fluctuated depending on vocal tone, similar to the Human Japanese language.

However it is not necessary to know the language due to its anomalous capablities: somehow, through reasons unknown by the Ectionists themselves, the language is able to subliminally insert an image in one's mind that pertains to the conversation being carried by the Ectionist party -- this makes the language an entirely visual experience, both through written word and something akin to remote viewing
