Description Porcelain Golem Syndrome: This disease ossifies the flesh of the infected within a 24 hr. time span, effectively turning the infected's flesh into a polished constitution of bone-like material resembling porcelain; though the body is encased within 24 hrs. it seems that the infected remains living for one to two hours after the completion of the process.

The Vacuum Flask: A quarantined prefecture that exists at the temperature of one degree kelvin. Cold to the point where life in many regions, if not adapted to the environment already, simply cannot exist without various ways of temperature regulation. For example, many humans and Qitherai tend to use specialized insulated suits, while Silicon Synths would be able to travel through the regions without these suits, due to their internal heating being regulated by a power-core running on nuclear slugs; though, even then, they're still only able to live under such conditions for a limited amount of time.

Beyond being an increasingly dangerous area for habitation, the Vacuum Flask was locked away from Consulate at large due to the region's harboring of a strange, seemingly incurable disease, which slowly ossifies the victim's flesh, making their skin and muscular tissue in its entirety become the consistency bone; the disease is known as Porcelain Golem Syndrome, and though references to it or similar diseases have been documented for the majority of human history at least, it was still such an aberration at that point that neither had it any form of medicinal combative materials synthesized against it, it didn't even have a variety of materials documenting how the disease occurs in the human body, even though it had happened to those who were popular in human history, such as Percy Bysshe Shelley, and even more modern cases of the disease had made its victims become veritable celebrities based on their anomalous cases alone. Still, even in those times the disease was little more than an oddity, now -- here in the Vacuum Flask -- the case for the disease had long since evolved, becoming a more predatory disease. This could be due to the disease working in tandem with other forms of virus and bacteria which are more common, piggy-backing on common and faster-acting disease like the Bubonic Plague once did.

This disease, being one of a biological mistake more than an environmental hazard, has found documentation throughout a variety of species whose biological composition were similar-enough to humanity, but little had any of them been able to press forward in their studies of the disease, always running into a wall with their observations and seldom discovering anything about this ill-formed mishap of physiognomy to develop a form of deterrence; this was in part due to how rare the occurrence of the disease even was before hand, even among other species.

As for the temperature of the region; it was an attempt to keep the disease from spreading, whether it was blood borne or airborne or other, people feared the risk that remnants of the disease could travel in the smoke of fires, if it somehow survived the flames. The bomb was provided for by the Ectionists and it was a Qitherai death-squad that planted the bomb in full knowledge that they would be unable to return from the task in fear of bringing back traces of the Porcelain Golem. But a Qitherai death-squad is named such, due to them being specialized in undertaking suicide missions. The technology used in the bomb was something the Ectionists refused to introduce to human scientists, despite how simple the creation of such a weapon might seem to the uninitiated. The bomb was a primitive WMD that was only ever issued during specialized situations like this, due to how unnecessary the construction of such a weapon seemed.

It was meant to be able freeze anything in a 170 by 170 kilometre radius. Any living organism caught within the radius of the bomb would flash-freeze and then shatter afterwards, due to the shock wave of the 'explosion' breaking the sound barrier.

The WMD was deployed upon the quarantined prefecture, then called New Horizon; after the bomb went off, that's when the area was renamed to the 'Vacuum Flask'. Many bodies of those suffering the illness failed to shatter though, due to them already being petrified.
