Description Long ago, a star system in the far reaches of the Outer Arm was discovered; Neridonte, a red giant orbited by eleven resource filled terrestrial worlds and a gas giant with two hundred similarly rich moons. Many eyes, human and otherwise, got turned towards this one star; though it was quickly discovered that, due to the electromagnetic anomalies of Neridonte, far away planetary scans and spacecraft navigation inside the system would be practically impossible. Following this discovery, mainly human industries formed various survey fleets, formed by a main interstellar carrier vessel and four smaller scout crafts. These ships were crewed by pilots, researchers and industrial specialists from many different species. These fleets had the objective of directly researching every different celestial body from up close, in order to avoid the interference produced by electromagnetic radiation expelled by the system's star, and as such, to register cartographic data from the whole system and allow future visitors to use this data to safely traverse the Neridonte system. It has to be noted that, during the expeditions, the adventurers had to rely on their own navigation and orientation skills in order to explore the system, since it was uncharted, and instantly generating a full map of the system was impossible.

This illustration depicts the RCSS-9 Basilisk carrier hours after it deployed three of its scout ships; the Athena, the Ramses and the Kelvin, and just deploying it's fourth companion, the Nobel, to perform a survey run on the biggest of Neridonte-1's moons, the paradisiacal Tsukiyomi, on the third day of the first of the survey fleets' expeditions. Tsukiyomi covers half the illustration, proudly showing its magenta vegetation covered continents and deep blue seas. Behind this Earth-like satellite, the jovian world Neridonte-1, two icy moons and the rust-colored Nero can be seen, while the red giant is at the center, putting every body into a crescent phase.
