It's got a very... "Dead Space" look to it. Sharp edges, harsh detail, not alot of defining colours. I love it. ^^

Awesomeness. It looks great.
I'd love to see that ship in Dead Space 2. Maybe send it in as "Fan Suggested Ideas" or something.

Wounderful!
To me it looks like something out of AVP or Babylon 5. Except it should have it's own show maybe.
I also cannot keep track of stuff on my hard drive. Recently my main PC died, and it could be years (and likely never) before I salvage everything from the backups. However, nothing I have is really that good.
You definately deserved a DD.

I'm not sure but it kinda reminds me of the Corellian corvette from Star Wars. But a moment later I'm not so sure...

Mhh, i dunno, i think the style is pretty different.. if anything its Dead Space / Industrial Grunge inspired..
That was the idea anyhow, not sure how much I diverted and drifted in starwars styles...

Hey ya, i am glad that you are the *only* person who spotted the dead space influence (heck, it drips out of my recent submissions!) so kudos for that
I hope DS2 will come to pc though ;/

It'd oughta, considering its success on the initial launch and response.
And the reason why I spotted the reference was because I'd thought I knew that hull from somewhere, minus the landing dock and a few of the plates in place. Thanks. ><
So, what say you to Dr. Isaac Clarke's fate? X:

haha I understand. I am still trying to figure out those engine glows but still haven't a clue how to pull it off. You should make a tutorial - Already had a lot of use of your planet tutorial.

eRe4s3r In reply to Dani-Sang [2010-04-06 09:13:02 +0000 UTC]
This is actually incredible hard to describe otherwise i'd have done that already. I use a custom brush and several steps in photoshop... i haven't the slightest idea how to tutorialize that, all together its just a glow and smudging to blur the engine inside

Dani-Sang In reply to eRe4s3r [2010-04-06 09:28:07 +0000 UTC]
I get it. The Photoshop part isn't really a problem, my little problem is how to apply it in C4D... or didn't you apply it in photoshop?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
eRe4s3r In reply to Dani-Sang [2010-04-06 09:30:50 +0000 UTC]
Well, in c4d i simply do a noise volume light, then a 2nd one, longer (this is the actual exhaust) with different noise scale and on additive blend (within c4d still)
This i then render, then i apply glow in photoshop, and smudge the engine interior/exhaust trail with some sort of dual shader that gives interesting patterns thats basically it, glow is overlay and/or lighten (depends on what you use for glow)
Best used is a gradient (black to white) which you then color how you want it.. i have 2 in my stocks for this kind of stuff and just perfect my post editing around it

Dani-Sang In reply to eRe4s3r [2010-04-06 09:33:55 +0000 UTC]
ah ok. Well, I was hoping for some kind of way to do it only in c4d. Pre-texture in photoshop and then import it to cinema4d - I geuss I have to find a way myself. The reason is that I want to animate spaceships
