I know a guy(he's in to crafting knives, I have one made by him)who owns a sword similar to the Ring Pommel Dao sword from the Su Dynasty era of China. But the blade takes the shape of the 18th Century Tibetan. It's kinda' cool looking.
Me? Well, I own a sword(it's a family heirloom)similar to the 18th Century, but the pommel's got the shape of an eagle's head, and the blade curves kinda' like the talwar, only skinnier.
(also, I couldn't agree more with the statement in the description.)

Japan does make beautiful swords.
I love Arabian swords as well, and Celtic, and Roman.
Viking longswords are nice too.

Check out some of the old African throwing blade weapons. I just got an awsome book with those and they open up a whole new slew of design ideas!

Aren't they though? If you want some really cool (but odd) looking ones, look at African bladed weapons. Tons made for throwing and they are just the coolest looking things.
