This Earth-like planet in a fictional solar system is orbited by a lot of moons that frequently eclipse the sun of the system. In such events, the local predators emerge from their cloud cover to go harvesting.

The cloudscape was created using some of my photos taken on a plane trip between Germany and Italy, with the addition of a photo from the NASA image library. The flying dragons are mostly a blend of snakes, alligators and bat wings. As always the elements are tied together with plenty of overpainting. Hope you like it!

The scales look masterfull! Just like real snake scales. Very shiny. However, the tiny time wings looks way too small. Apart from that it's a beautiful picture.

Yeah bigger wings definetely would have made the creatures more epic. I don't remember why I chose these small ones actually. I think I intended them to be more magical creatures, so the wings are mostly accessories. Thanks a lot for the comment!
