Overall
Vision
Originality
Technique
Impact
Well what can I say. I like different digital art about space. I like it cause that special beauty of the space which artist can show us making bright detailed pictures. And ofcaurse I firstly must say that here we got all of this. Impressive detalization of not only the entire planet, but also a space around it. Far away stars, other small planets, satellites and spaceships, parts of the farer galaxies and even light from closest star I guess. In this way all is perfect.
Can't say that pictures of space is something really original, but in this case when we can see planet explosion from the inside, cause of unstability of the core I think, that's something we don't see so often in such a good quality. So this is enough to up originality on 4 instead of just usual 3.
Great technique. I never knew how to make such pictures and for me that is something close to impossible. I just can't immagen how can anyone draw something like this by his or her own hands. With this level of detalization, number of objects and other things...
So after all I can say that today I've seen something beautiful. This is not the picture what always will be in my mind, and what can really have a big impact on anyone's life. But this is surely deserves to be seen and admired. Great work, a picture what I always would be glad to add in any of my "space theme" collection ( if I ever will have one ).

Thank you for the nice critique, I really appreciate it!
(Actually, I think space art is quite easy to learn, especially for beginners, as you get nice results quite quickly. The nebulae are the harder part, but you can keep them simple for a start. In case you are interested in learning how to do it, here are a few links:

This tutorial and resource collection is quite nice as well: erikshoemaker.deviantart.com/a…

It's indeed a long way, but it can be worth it. Let me show you my first planet creation from 2007:
I really loved it back then.

What exactly is going on here -- implosion from inside out, or the earth itself being pulled away by something/-one to reveal the core?

This moon was once hit by something huge and since then the crust has been falling apart over time. Gravity of the nearby planet pulls the debris and fluids out of the core.
I believe that was my initial idea, it's been a few years since I made it so I don't quite recall.

I added this as my laptop wallpaper a few days ago, and I wanted to let you know that it makes me happy every time I see it! I love art that combines the reds and blues that you have used effectively. You do the feeling of heat from the reds and cold from the blues well!
