Hi I was wondering if I could Use this picture to do a wood burning project for a friend of mine and also showcase the final piece on my account?

hehe thanks
I still haven't quite figured out how to colour things sketch like if that makes sense. Like brush strokes and even colour fade without using gradients. Any suggestions?

I told you how in an earlier post, but you said you didn't quite understand. It is all on how you blend the layers, and what type of layer mode you use. a soft round brush can be used to make ANY affect given enough time.... but you have to set it at the right opacity.

There does not appear to be brush options for Paint.NET. I think its something thats exclusive to GIMP and Photoshop. =[

you can't paint with brushes? what do you do just dump the paint?
Sounds kinda odd...

I paint via filling if that makes sense
I do it via block painting and adjusting tolerance levels. I have seen videos of people 'ainting' in Photoshop but I do it differently to that. I think its due to lack of tablet and because I'm very fussy when it comes to colouring >_<

what you are doing is using the polygonal laso tool to make the "marching ants" around the shape you want, then using the paint bucket tool to dump the paint, then adjusting the layers.
That is the easiest way to do it without a wacom.

I actually don't use the lasso tool at all. I find that its a little fiddly using the mouse to manipulate with a lasso. I don't get the strokes I want -_-

there is a big differience between the lasso tool, and the polygonal lasso tool. Calling them the same thing is like saying oil and chalk pastels are the same thing.
