Description
**Requires Full View**This was done at the request of an Ai buddy of mine, but I also did this for all the people who have been curious as to how I go about creating detailed backgrounds in flash. This treatment is light, but it's enough to get you started if you're already somewhat familiar with the Flash interface. I hope this helps you some, I had fun making my first tutorial to share with all of you!

Thank you so much! ^^ I'll bookmark this and save it for another day! Photoshop is easy to make some sort of background in, but Flash is just plain hard to me. >_< Plus, there's not too many tutorials on how to make a really good background or draw in Flash. This is the first one I've seen in quite some time!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!

Fantastic contribution.. giving more than you take!
Almost makes *me* want to run out and buy a wacom thing.. 'cept I don't draw.. it's that good!
Bravo!
btw: why do girls use all three of their names more often than guys; I just noticed that.

Heh, funny you should point that out! Actually, I normally wouldn't use all three, but there is another Kelli Davis here on DA who also does Halo fanart--hers being of a more mature nature, so I use all three names to avoid any confusion.

I don't draw either and I bought a Wacom graphic tablet... I think it's nice because you can always find something to write on, a picture, a graphic and I use the graphic tablet only, no mouse... it took me a day to get use to it though, but it's great... and if I ever want to get more into drawing, I'll be all set

Anywhere from $80-1,000. It all depends on what size and what kind of tablet you're getting.

I go to the one in Orange County. Graphic Design, huh? I've always loved graphic design, but I just draw too darn much to stay satisfied with it. . .and that landed me in the animation dept.

Yea, I dont get as much time as i'd like to draw, but i still fit it in where i can. I love typography too tho, so it's cool.

I'm in Media Arts and Animation. So you're an interactive media design! Now that's a good major to be in. . .lots of high-paying work available when you get out.

That is some good advice, Alot of people don't know that about movie clips and symbols. Also with having some of the elements in the background as movie clips that means that they are animateable themselves. A movie clip can contain movie clips.

its a nice theory tutorial, except if it were towards a less talented artist it wouldnt be as good a tutorial, because explains how to set up your scene, and most skilled atists and animators would already know that, but u took time in making this tutorial and i apreciate it, and im sure people will find it useful, a good tutorial, would be explaining how you animate your characters, and whether you use a build-up method or if you just draw the free hand, tutorials are better when they explain the small details, e.g. how you would animate hair when animating a walk cycle, i hope i havent been to harsh, love your work XD
