Description
Commission for -_Wish of the Goddess_- via Gaiaonline of her OC.The request seemed simple enough. Her character, Kala Itar, is the spirit of a Dream Catcher. As I was sketching out some concepts, however, they just didn't seem.... enough. So I added onto them. And again. And again. Until the sketch commission became something more than a sketch. And after forcing a dear friend of mine to critique each stage (bless her heart for putting up with me), I think I'm finally ready to release it for viewing.
A compositional nightmare, I'm sure, but eh. I like how it turned out anyway.

I imagine it might be like traveling on a giant, taut hammock. (Who needs magic flying carpets when you could have a magic flying hammock that captures nightmares!)

Sorry for not commenting earlier (is a hypocrite for not doing so) I love this piece, it's like... peaceful serenity, and phenomenal cosmic power all at once. The patterns on the spheres (not sure if the're planets or not) are so entertaining and while I have no idea who that character is, he seems so at peace, content. The tiny little details you put into everything, right down to the reflection on the dream catchers beads or the shading of the feathers, is so well done. Did you do all this in pencil?

You really outdid yourself on this piece! I would hardly call this a compositional nightmare. It flows rather nicely from the OC's out-stretched hand down to the feathers of the Dream Catcher. I also love the texture of the feathers and the metal clasps. Wish is one lucky Gaian and Deviant to have such a piece!
